Are the developers planning anything to deal with asic? Difficulty = 367.584 k ( 1080Ti = 0.09 bwk\day   = -$0.59  Huh ). This is the end for GPU? Angry Undecided

yeah this suck big time!
Basically GPU mining is worthless.

Any information from the team? ASIC taking over the network is not really good ! Attack possible too !

Actually it isn't wrong, someone is running a masternode on 1.2.3 allready, since he probally compiled the scource code (which is not suggested at all)

Good to see you here.

It's a solid coin man, mn setup way easier then most other coins, consistent and strong support from the community in discord and good development team. It has been one of my favorite masternode coins, hopefully in the future it will really stand out.

We are aware that there is an ASIC available for the NIST5 algorithm and are discussing possible solutions internally.

We will have an announcement soon.

Thank you.

Great since the last 2 days have proven that GPU mining for BWK is not profitable anymore and everyone will switch to other coins if nothing change soon.
Looking forward to the news.

The first diff spike was some kind of bug with Nicehash from what i'm told, buy orders for power being far cheaper than they were supposed to be

So you think that a company ships out hardware without testing it? And maybe make some money while testing?
Every ASIC miners are tested for weeks while in development and before release, is the norm !!!

So, couple things.
1. Technically it's an FGPA, not an ASIC.
2. It's a software change, not brand new hardware. So there's thousands of Baikal x10's that are probably on NIST5, which means BWK.
3. Apart from the nicehash bug a few days ago, we haven't seen continuously abnormally high nethash/difficulty in a while
