H boards are out of stock, wow.

Nice! less people will loose money on them Smiley

spiccioli

with starter kits paid over 1000 $, I guess that a lot of people already did loose and is just trying to recoup something.

I already had positive ROI on my August starter kit. No idea why you guys would have a problem.

wow add VAT and see how much you get out..... overpriced for me, I was expecting cheaper hardware after the successful run they had and the positive experience.

A KnC Jupiter is definitely cheaper now at 4995 USD instead of 5700-5750 USD for a full rig made up of 16 h-boards + 1 m-board + 1 raspPi.

And h-boards are "certified" at 25GH/s, so you could end up with a 400-450 GH/s bitfury unit instead of a 500-550 GH Jupiter if you're unlucky and get underperforming cards.

spiccioli

ps. the whole bitfury's idea was a lot of "small" chips against a few big ones... but if small ones are priced like this, the whole idea does not work so well.

Do you get that Jupiter shipping tomorrow?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Full August kit, paid around 310 BTCs, up to now has earned around 114 BTCs, it will NEVER break-even.

Adding a non breaking-even board ontop of a non breaking-even kit... I don't understand how you could be better off.

ps. if you don't pay VAT you're better off... a little better off.

Yes and in August BTC was ~ 100$
Now 242$...

I have a pretty smart tip for you : In futur just buy BTC because 1 BTC today is still 1 BTC in 1 month or 1 year.

Well, at the current bitcoin rate, my 2 August starter kits and 1 October full kit broke even 5 days ago, with another couple of h-boards hopefully doing the same in around a month, with a little help from a Jupiter, which is breaking even in around 2 weeks. As a happy BFSB customer I added some more h-boards today and hope they will break even in around 2 months.

Huh, calculating it in fiat you will get your money back, and then some. Unfortunately BTC has tripled in value since then (60eur to 180eur) so you would have been better off by just holding coins. I don't see how that is anything else than your own (and mine) bad decision to go with mining instead of just holding coins and daytrading.

That ASIC earned itself in ~2-3 months, try to find some similar return of investment in other business segments.

Do you get that Jupiter shipping tomorrow?

No, but it does not make any difference, they won't break-even even if both were shipped tomorrow, at least with a KnC:

- you lose less
- you don't risk having several boards underperforming but barely reaching 25 GH/s and as such considered good
- you don't have an 18 pieces jigsaw which performs differently based on the order in which you assemble it, room's temperature or moon's phase.

I bought a full october kit, at around 110 BTCs more or less, and it has up to now mined 14 BTCs and I've received four EOL boards which don't even reach 25 GH/s and one of them had to be moved to a different m-board, otherwise it was slowing down/blocking three other cards.

I mean, at least october kits HAD to be made by good cards ONLY and more so for customers that already bought august kits (by miners for miners... yeah, right!)

Instead they recycled old, underperforming, august EOL cards.

spiccioli

ps. I'm not angry with punin, he has done a very good work shipping units mostly on time and has good customer support, but prices are made (by bitfury?) so that it is assured that you can't break-even, even if other players are late or don't deliver.

I was well aware that it was a gamble when I ordered my units and I'm aware that I've lost this gamble and that in life sometimes you win but most of the times you lose, but at least, please, don't try to tell me that they're better than other sellers (apart from BFL which should all be in jail).

Miner's falllacy.

In fiat terms you were better off buying bitcoins and/or not spending them to get hardware.

And today you're better off buying BTCs instead of overpriced cards.

Right now ASICs keep selling because people keep thinking about fiat currency... but if you believe that BTC is here to stay, you want to have BTCs not USD/EURs.

Sure fractal02,

I've learned my lesson, but it seems a lot of people did not (yet) and keep buying overpriced hardware instead of BTCs, this is what we're talking about.

so you mined same ammoun of BTC that you could buy at that time yes ? congratz Wink
if not than i can understand before u didnt know it will not mine same ammount of BTC that you could buy at that time, but now if someone know it and buying device that will never make same ammount of BTC that it cost than that decision is just stupid ;p

simple example:
100$ for device that will mine 1BTC
1BTC=50$

ater some time prce going up

1BTC=300$

you paid 100$ for 2BTC before so you could have now 600$
but you have only 1BTC becouse your device cant mine anymore bcouse of difficulty .. its like 0.0001 per month now so thats mean you have 300$ and you are happy that you lost another 300 ;(

if going down
1BTC = 10$
if you bought BTC you have 2BTC thats mean you have 20$ so u lost 80$
if you bought device you have only 1BTC so it means you have 10$ = you lost 90$

conlcusion: its always better to buy BTC than overpriced bitcoin mining device that will naver mine same ammout of BTC that you colud buy at that time Wink

If you ordered express, it should arrive tomorrow .... if punin sends it out asap, as he normally does.

It'll start tracking in the evening. We have made special arrangements to enable us to ship same day overnight from the Deep Forest™ we're located in. Smiley

Update:

We should have some H-cards available latest next monday as I assume not all orders are going to be paid for and with wire transfers you got to give them a few days.

We also got some RedFury USB sticks, will try to get those up in the shop latest tomorrow.

And last but not least, we got our first shipment of v2.2 H-cards! We still don't have the M-boards for these, so we cannot test them yet. Build quality looks excellent and they have a small SMD trimpot on them (which is unfortunately not angled, so you will need to adjust voltage 1 card at a time.)

We don't currently sell full kits. We sell H-cards and M-boards. Your hashrate may vary. Each card has been tested to deliver 25GH individually. Full rigs will be made available later, but will be priced higher due to the extra time it takes to set them up for the advertised hashrate.
