I got a very sensible logical story may be possible it can describe God somehow. Something interesting regarding those who believe and those who don't believe in God! Very interesting. It stimulates our lateral thinking. This lovely parable is from "Your Sacred Self" by Dr. Wayne Dyer.
In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”
“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”
The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”
The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”
The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”
The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”
“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”
The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”
The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.”
Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”
To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”
May be this was one of the best explanations to the concept of 'GOD'

Do you even know what the scientific method is? Just stick with the Bible. Don't read anything else. Stay ignorant. I guess I am glad that you are sticking to your religious beliefs by posting like this. But the question is "why?" So, why do you believe this way, when the scientific evidence shows that God exists? Obviously, the question is not a scientific one. So, why do you believe that God doesn't exist?

... Nice little non-scientific, believe story, symbolizing why one might believe that God exists. Thanks.

There clearly is a question about it, as I don't believe he exists.

If good and bad exists, if aliens and dreams exist then why shoudn't God, exist? It has to be something bigger then humans because things doesn't just happen and this is beyond our understanding.

God exisitng is actually the only thing that really makes sense. There are so many unexplained things in this universe and we are never ever going to get those explanations because they are all of the Spiritual Realm. There is always a creator and HE is GOD.

Things do just happen, ergo the big bang, ergo evolution. You say things don't just happen, didn't your God "just happen?".

Not all things need to be created, e.g. I'm sure you would agree nobody created God.

I think the title should not have been limited to why we believe in God since some people don't. Anyway, I believe that there is a God, but not the Bible nor anyone in this world can describe him or anything beyond this life unless he has been there.

Anybody who thinks that God doesn't exist, is simply setting himself up as god against the godness of those others who do believe that God exists.

I'm a Scientist, have been for most of my life. I have NEVER believed in a supreme being, despite going to Catholic schools my entire life.
I'd like to know.... What is it that compels you to believe in God? How can you argue for his existence? Please bare the following in mind when you answer;
1. There are literally thousands of religions, each of which has members that believe just as firmly as you do, they say they feel a personal connection with God, they have their own religious books and doctrines etc, if you were born in Saudi Arabia, you would be a muslim, in Ireland you would be a protestant, seems like the place you are born denotes your religion, rather than divine intervention. Obviously you can't all be right, so how do you know YOU are.
2. Most religions state that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, all-present and eternal. If this is the case, why are people punished for sins by an all loving God, who predestined them to commit their sins by knowing the future? Why is there bone cancer in Children, and insects that burrow into the eyes of infants making them blind, could an all loving God not have imagined a reality without this? And why is there such overwhelming evidence AGAINST the existence of a creator?
3. Since the scientific era God has slowly receded into the shadows, God used to be held responsible for most things, e.g. people offered sacrifices for good health, prayed for rain, thought that God pulled the sun across the sky, created plagues etc. Now we know he does none of these, and God has been reduced to a "God of the gaps" whereby he is still attributed to things we cannot yet explain with science, doesn't seem very powerful anymore.
I'll try to respond to the major points in this thread attempting to dismantle them.
I believe in God because there is no way that all of the things existed without a creator. I think that idea is easier to believe than all these were caused by the big bang theory, a cosmic accident and everything fell into places perfectly. I do not claim to know what came before God as you might want to use as a counter-argument; in which can also be used against the idea of everything from nothing. Yet, I am sure that for him to create everything God must be an immaterial being and outside of what we know as time, dimension and all things science can explain.

Everything with a beginning requires a cause. The universe has a beginning and therefore requires a cause. That cause is God.
So yes God does exist..but is he/she in the form of what religions portray them to be?
That is the everlasting question that has yet to be answered. Everyone believes their God is the one and only.
Who really knows!

Cause we all know that God created us and it is in the mind if all people .
I certainly agree with you. Without God, we are nothing. As it has been thought to us since we were kids, God is the creator of the universe. I believe that God exists because I, myself is existing and breathing. I am enjoying the life He gave me. I believe that God is the reason of every good things that is happening in my life and there are things that is yet to come.
