According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Even if people stop using them as money, they'll still be kind of fun to collect as a hobby, sort of like trying to get a new high score in your favourite game.

They can't tell me what math i can and can't do

Certainly not, but purely base10/fractional mathematics can be put on the educational syllabus so that from an early age people have their brain 'trained' to think a certain way and make if harder for them to think outside the box.

But why lose base10 thinking? Because there is an alternative, that nature and the universe (multiverse?) uses... vortex-based mathematics. Ancient civilisations knew it well.

There are about 140 currencies in use in the world today, some issued by corrupt governments with no legitimacy at all. On what ground, would a government ban one ? because it is the most recent or because it is issued by the citizen of the world ?

the price would probably drop, so I'd stop mining as it wouldn't be profitable. though I would still accept the coins as payment because of the irreversibility.

They really ban the free will , can they ?
Banning it proves the worthiness of it , and then people might look for it more . So better for them not to ban, but i guess it will probably get banned .
And i won't stop using it , until my graphic card burns up.

Question in the post title...

Answer Yes/No

And I am asking because of a line in this article:
http://themonetaryfuture.blogspot.com/2011/04/legal-tender-illegal-tender-will.html

"However, pragmatically it is necessary to understand that the majority of people now do see the government as legitimate and, if Bitcoin was banned, would not use it out of a desire to be good upstanding citizens. The Bitcoin economy would lose 90% of its user base and the value of Bitcoin would crash. Therefore, Bitcoin needs to become a viable currency for legitimate business transactions."
Yes so that when bitcoin was banned you will no longer to used it in a country but since bitcoin was too many countries using it tgier is no possibility to make it banned. We can see the scenario that bitcoin has falls its price but nowadays it is on process of recovery so that nothing worried for. You can be able to used bitcoin anywhere even in any transactions.

Yes, I would gladly continue to use bitcoin.
Centralized exchanges would close in some countries and decentralized ones would become popular, but I'd be there accumulating Roll Eyes

Bitcoin already died like a billion time and it never stays dead, so basically BTFD on a higher time frame.

It depends on how much BTC I will have on my hands at that moment LOL
I do not  think what the article implies will happen though. You cannot just ban cryptocurrency.

Yes.  But there is no way to ban it completely.  It will become even more valuable if governments start to ban.  It’s much better for them to regulate it and get some tax money from it.

Yes, I will. They will not know that I'm doing illegal things and nobody thinks that way. There is no harm in using Bitcoin.

The government bans a lot of things. For example, in Venezuela it's illegal to buy US dollars on the street, but people have had a dollar black market for years. Same with drugs being illegal for decades, which hasn't stopped people from buying, selling and using. Sometimes things are banned until they become legal again, just as in many US states marijuana is now sold legally. So banning Bitcoin would not stop its use.

There's still some problem in my country.  Like Most of people don't know about bitcoin and even if they know they have to first spend their time to understand blockchain. Our government not ready to accept bitcoins this is same with banks they're also not agree to accept bitcoins. Yes its still exist and some people in my area are using it but  most of the people not accepting it .
