looks like they were mounted on thier sides. I am considering doing this, but feel that it may cause the chip side of the board to have no airflow and get even hotter compared to standing upright

really? because i want to build something similar for 3 antminers but am concerned that if they are placed on the side, there is only about a 1cm gap between the 'floor' of the chasis and the chips, with very little airflow coming off the 120mm fans. did you direct a fan there to provide airflow or raise the antminer slightly higher?

at >50C these are quite hot and I want to provide as much cooling as possible

Hello Hechay. How much did it cost you to make this unit for the ants to have their home in ?

I would love to get this as well... I bet you could mount 3 in the frame, Run a EVGA 1300w or greater and you would be fine

you would not have any OC headroom with that though. it may be easier and cheaper to go with 2x800W PSUs and have each run 1.5 antminers overclocked to 200GH

Actually, I have 2 OC'ed running on that PSU right now, only pulls ~800W from the wall. 3 Non-Oced is pulling ~1075, so I might be able to do 3 OC'ed.

1. I tried OC for one big machine ( 2 S1 ) ... 48-49 degree C. Normal fan.

2. About 50$ to make one rig.

3. I have no idea about the dimesion for this. 0.5x0.6x0.175m. That's all I have.

Thanks.

so an OC'd unit draws roughly 400W at the wall for you? I wish there were some more concrete numbers for power draw at 400MHz since some people said its over 500W. (400W at the wall indicates around 360W on the 12V rail only, right? (80% efficiency)

Ive got a PSU coming tomorrow thats got about 700W on its 12V rail and Im wondering whether it would support 2 non-OC'd units or not. (at least once i bring down the overclock in a month or two to improve effficency and reduce heat output)

I found a huge difference between a crap generic PSU (600w thermaltake) and the 80+ gold and plat PSUs.
1 Ant non OC on the 600w- 456w at the wall
1 Ant non OC on the 1300w Plat - ~325 at the wall.

I agree with this, two Ants on a single CoolerMaster 1050W that pulls 815W at the wall whilst both are at 375MHz. Before just a single Ant was pulling 450W at the wall without OC using twin Corsair 450W supply's. It doesn't pay to power these with cheap PSU's.

If I have been help then please show your thanks         BTC: 127PRogAVZiV3fEmpJERh9KemK3a3Ffh6G         LTC: LXghFL8mZffpTFkm2nRTesuDrV5DJQP3Js

I bought 1200W FSP 80 PLUS PSU for 2 S1. I tried to OC them to 375MHz for testing purpose. It is only about 750W-790W only. It is too waste to buy 1200W PSU. I think 1200W can be use for 3 S1.

i actually got 1500w enermax to power all the 3 in normal mode... however as soon as i overclock them to 200 each the psu trips... i think either the ants pull way more than 12v rails can handle or there needs to be proper power distribution.. the thing with enermax 1500w only v3 and v5 are dedicated the rest are shared...

whats the 12V rail amperage(s) for the PSU?

I know that Im able to use a Corsair CX600M (553W on 12V) for a 400MHz antminer and a Raidmax RX-730SS (2x24A rails) to power a second antminer, with enough power left on a rail to add ~60W for some bitfury equipment

My 3rd antminer is expected today, and I just picked up a BEAUTIFUL ULTRA X3 800W *fully* modular PSU for only $40 BNIB. - 4 dedicated PCI-E connector ports on the PSU and even the mobo cable is modular, so i just have a small wire crimped to the back of the PSU for the PS_ON signal and 2 pci-e lines ready to go. When the time comes for antminer 4 or to tune back down to 350, I might be able to run 2 ants on it

AliExpress has them ~2500 for 180GH/s 360watts at wall they claim
