They are powerful buggers but we are finding that they run really hot vs EVGA, MSI and others. Do you still use them in your rigs powered down or have you come up with other solution to solve the overheating? It actually took us a couple weeks to stabilize the rig - now running solid and using Awesome Miner (mining $zen at the moment)

Is this a complaint or advertisement?  Wrong forum, regardless

observation mainly - not a complaint per se - can't delete our own posts so I guess I'll sit here and feel silly for posting in the wrong topic.

Maybe you should consider undervolting the cards.  I used to mine with R9 390's and they were nearly 375W out of the box, but you could get them down as low as 225-250W by judicious undervolting and adjusting clocks.

If you are talking about the Zotac Mini models, they have a noticeably smaller cooling setup than almost anything else - so they ARE going to run hotter than most other cards.
All of the ones I have are going into rigs that are aimed at high efficiency, running ballpark 60% TDP - and they run pretty cool at THAT power level.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

I live in the tropics and the only 1080ti available at a decent price was the Zotac Amp. It did hash very well but did not cool well. I put it at 70% TDP with the fan at 90% to keep it below 70c. I finally was able to buy an Aorus 1080ti with 3 fans and they cooled extremely well, 80% TDP, fan on auto (around 30-50%) with the temp mid to low 60's plus it hashed slightly better. I won't be buying any more Zotacs.
