The transaction capacity of cryptocurrencies, in comparison to widespread payment solutions such as VISA define the currency.
The inherent slowness of the Blockchain is a problem to find the right gap between speed without compromising security, decentralization, or consensus.
For example, Bitcoin has embraced the notion of being Digital Gold before they release their lightning network after the implementation of Segregated Witness.
But there is a similar matter, how is the Blockchain going to scale at such a level? How can we reach Visa’s 1,700 transaction per second average and implement that in Bitcoin without compromising? Ethereum’s proposal on scaling to Ethereum 2.0 is due to sharding, which may greatly boost the speed of the chain.
However, we at the Lineage Foundation have found that on-chain scaling is much needed,
and thus we have come up with a solution that allows decentralization, speed,
and prevents the manipulation of third parties on aspects of the ecosystem.
New Algorithm, All Full nodes, Zero Second confirmation, Offline and anonymous transactions

There is no such thing as an SPV or Simplified Payment Verification wallet and a full node. They both coexist and work together due to the small Block-size and low bandwidth used. The wallets are all ‘full nodes’ and are economical since the Blockchain forks every time the storage reaches 25mb (or scalable to 50mb) into a new Blockchain with a wiped history. There are 239,681 ±87 transactions for every megabyte of the blockchain through the various tests we have done on the test net. The test net is still in development, and we expect to further compress and strip the Blockchain down until it can scale to billions of transactions a second.[/justify]

The nature of the new Blockchain algorithm, Lineage, requires no time at all to get a confirmation, as every transaction is a new block that is written to the blockchain regardless of time, no proof of work is needed to verify the transactions, as they are already signed when sent. The algorithm also allows second layer offline solutions through ‘Hash Scanning’.[/justify]
Hash Scanning[justify]
Hash Scanning, put simply, is the method of sending coins to a pre-made address for the use of offline use. After going offline, offline to online and offline to offline transactions will work easily. Offline to online wallets can sign transactions with a special flag (e.g OP_OFFLINE) and display a QR code or a string that has been signed. The online wallet can now scan the QR code, and will automatically submit it to the Blockchain, automatically sending the offline wallet’s coins to the online address.[/justify]

However, this is not new. What is new is the new offline to offline transactions. Offline to offline transactions work by sending coins to a premade address, that turns the coins into a code that can be redeemed on another wallet. An offline wallet can scan this code and have the coins instantly redeemed to the account, without having to worry about never really being sent the coins. This is because the coins are in an offline premade address, that will need special keys to unlock it. The special key is split, so that the offline wallet that sends the transaction cannot retake all the coins, but can only take the portion that they have signed. The hashes cannot be hacked or exploited, as they are under the Lineage algorithm, where a signature does not have to be signed in order for it to be confirmed, as it is impossible to crack, with the Lineage 1024 split table bits of entropy without the use of the internet to settle transactions, with special wallets where users can claim different shares once they get online.[/justify]
Microtransaction Ready[justify]
Lineage is microtransaction ready, meaning that you can start paying for small transactions like your coffee, in-app purchases, all without fees and confirmation times. This is because of the distributed nodes that will write to the Blockchain as soon as they receive a valid transaction. Invalid transactions will not be accepted and will be dropped immediately for efficiency.[/justify]
New Architecture[justify]
As stated before, the Blockchain will have a new architecture, with each transaction being a ‘block’ in the lineagechain. All balances are recorded and forked into a new chain every 50 megabytes with the balances on chain remaining the same.[/justify]
Sidechains and Turing Complete[justify]
Lineage is turing complete and has smart contract support, meaning developers can build on top of it and mold it into what they want without significant consensus changes. Developers can write programs or contracts that can solve any computational problem. Any high-level language can be used on Lineage, and Solidity contracts can be imported to a certain extent. However, the smart contracts section of Lineage is a sidechain that can interact with the main payments chain. The Smart Contracts network, or LineageSC is a sidechain that can be managed by the community and decentralized entities. In this instance, the Smart Contracts are hosted independently and are not hosted on default. The LineageSC sidechain has the same efficiency as the main chain, however, the amount of space it takes will be the same as traditional blockchain, so it will not be default.[/justify]

Lineage does not need LineageSC to run, however, LineageSC needs Lineage to run as it has anchors in the main network, and bits of Vitalik Buterin’s thoughts on sharding will help it to run more efficiently. The pruning of the Blockchain every 50 mb will not affect LineageSC as LineageSC will stay constant forever.[/justify]

There is no incentive to keep the full block history of the Linage chain unless it is for Blockchain analysis, for sentimental value.[/justify]
Artificial Intelligence Ready
Artificial Intelligence is largely supported by the LineageSC network, as each the sidechain smart contract network runs in it's own 'sandboxed' condition. There cannot be a central source of failure, so artificial intelligence programs that rely on blockchain technology cannot disrupt common points such as the payment ledger in the normal Lineage payments network. LineageSC is 'sharded' or split up into many different sections, so that if one section of the smart contract system overloads, it can be placed on low priority mode by the LineageSC Miners. However, smart contracts based on the LineageSC platform are only immutable if the creator runs a node based on that sect. Anchors to seperate 'dimensions' or SideChains will be made available to those that are willing to run node bridges, however, it is not needed in the ecosystem due to anchors that already cross check from the payments network in Lineage to LineageSC, so a LineageSC to LineageSC bidirectional anchor will only be used if efficiency is key. Otherwise, artificial intellgience can just communicate with other SideChains through the common bridge, the Payments network. Other system protocols such as the Lightning Network can be ported to Lineage so that any token created and even the Lineage network tokens, LINE, can be swapped to other Lightning Network compatible tokens such as Bitcoin and Litecoin in the future. This will most likely roll out during Phase 2, the adoption period where there can be more popular crypto gateways to increase the spread of adoption.

Social Pay
Lineage Social Pay is a scalable social network solutions model that allows the payout of LINE to anyone using social media. It is like a tipbot, but it works in such a way that it can be used with IM’s, but it must have a bridge connected with the social media account. This type of network reduces the need for long string identifiers, and uses a hashing technique like the popular IM app, Discord, where, the ID is obfuscated into an easy to remember 6 digit variable that identifies a person. Only alphanumeric numbers are allowed in this case, and it can easily scale to millions of micro transactions being handled by each node in the ecosystem. The main source of incentivization is the need to become a node to use the network, as we have abolished the term ‘node’ and established a much more shared and equal community.
