I am a member of russian BTC community. I read the russian forum and see there many people from all over the world. Not all of them, of course, speak russian. I'm sure, soon here will be more national communities.
Automated translation is not perfect, of course, but can help to understand what is discussed. So now forum members reading foreign language posts have to copy and paste text into translation app manually. But why?
There is a great mod for SMF utilizing Google Translate:

I like the foxlingo add-on for firefox. It translates most languages into english for me and it even has auto translate functions when you get to a foreign language page.

We can also  use (as possible and for important messages) simple english. It is very well  automatically translates into many languages.

There are a lot of people who don't use firefox or can't install an extension. And those who don't speak english or any other foreign language.
That's why I propose forum engine mod - it will extend the target audience.
And it will not interfere with any translation extension or users' language experience.
