Have several unconfirmed transactions going back over 3 weeks

Most are from Coinpot. I believe there are 10 stuck transactions. The oldest one is Nov. 7th. I sent a deposit with a high fee from an exchange and it went right through. Processing a withdrawal now.

So, I am sure Coinpot pays the smallest fees possible, but ... kinda rediculous. These are all small transactions. Can anything be done? Just wait?

The current recommended fee per byte is around 60 at the time of writing this. Some of the transactions that they have sent to you have as low as 1 satoshi per byte. No wondering they are taking so long to confirm. If a exchange is knowingly doing this, then that's pretty bad for a service. Contact their support and see if this was a genuine mistake or if this is how they operate.

To me if this is normal for them to send such a low fee, then I would be looking elsewhere if you need the Bitcoin in a quick time frame. Of course these could of been one offs and there may be a glitch in their automated system which is processing withdrawals. In the mean time you could try out the free pool accelerators or contact some pools and after them a reward to accelerate the block.

I think this is the norm for these so-called micropayment wallets. I still get infrequent payments from them every couple of months or so without issue, you're right about them using small fees that take about a day to confirm but I think yeah, the 1 sat/byte fee seems a rather low even for them.

We've seen now several microwallets die off or scale down their services (or start charging fees), and I guess their model was never really meant to survive in the current environment of high BTC price and escalating fees. Perhaps Coinpot will also see its demise soon if this continues, and along with that, the death of faucets (already in their twilight).

Going through the txs, though, you yourself seem to have made low fee txs, some also unconfirmed? Spends from hundreds of inputs including from your address 15R5m4FqPwcnEF971v6MwTH8nG8LHJ44Ev I mean... some of them really heavy transactions too like https://blockchain.info/tx/939bbc0c12171003c95c951368842e8ef884fd6a02045eaa86e9787459196885

almost 100k in size.

So you seem to be trying to consolidate dust inputs (all the same size and BTC amounts even)... going to take a lot more than 1sat/byte to attract miners, my friend. You a dust/faucet farmer, I venture?

about another 3 days to be actioned but it did happen
and my transaction was REFUNDED.

It was through Shapeshift.

Maybe have a look at some of the transactions and see
if they can be refunded?

You could use something like poloniex?

 
I'm not sure if they'd really be waiting on you doing this, ( correct me if i'm wrong, but  i don't think it is stated that you can't do this, or that it is frowned upon), they only charge 0.0001 per withdraw, and you can deposit down to 1 satoshi i believe, which makes it pretty ideal for faucet earnings etcetera.

Then once you withdraw it'll all be 1 output, instead of hundreds small ones.

I have no problems withdrawing LTC or Dash, and I suppose going forward I will convert btc to ltc, but Coinpot has not answered my email and really doesn't seem to care if their transactions get processed or not. I am assuming everyone that uses Coinpot is having the same problem.

What I still don't get is that the address you provided is a Coinpot receiving/deposit address, correct? But what I see from the transaction history associated to it is that, it is actually OUTGOING transactions that are the problem, NOT incoming. So it would seem that these are transactions you are making? Or have I misunderstood something here? I also use Coinpot (but associate it with an existing BTC address) so I don't have this issue.

In any case, if you've already submitted them for acceleration, then you shouldn't need to wait (too) long. I've submitted plenty of 0 fee txs over the past months and they generally confirm in a day max. But if you're still seeing them unconfirmed after a couple of days, you can send me a list of tx IDs and I'll see what I can do... but the issue really needs to be resolved with Coinpot if they're responsible for the low fees.

Confirm TX can only take free accelerations for txs less than 400 bytes in size... as I mentioned, yours are even 100kilobytes! So how did you? But perhaps you're better off paying them the $4 fee... these txs are worth a lot of money.

OK, that's what I thought. So the problem doesn't seem to be with Coinpot, rather with how you're spending them... As I said, the low-fee, unconfirmed transactions actually involve spends FROM that address, not TO the address. So it would appear you are the one responsible for the low fees, not coinpot, since the txs coming TO the address are fine, and confirmed with good fees.

They'll eventually go through (or rather, they'll always be in mempool waiting to be picked up by miners) as long as the txs continue to be broadcast, this depends on the wallet you're using. If you've already submitted all of them for acceleration, then all should be fine, eventually.

I'm not sure how to tell incoming from outgoing but I know that several of those are funds I sent from my Coinpot wallet, which does not allow me to set a fee. So they should be incoming to the address I posted.

I have emailed coinpot support and asked for help twice now, as well as messaged them on Twitter amd they have not responded. I would like them to recall all unconf txs so I can try and resend.

Ok, apparently none of these are going through. From now on I am converting to LTC and withdrawing that way and I am making the same recommendation to my users.

All I care about now is that these transactions will either eventually be confirmed, or will be cancelled and returned. These wont be lost forever, right?

Hi there. Sorry took a while to respond. I *think* I finally understood your situation, and yeah it looks like Coinpot is headed the way of Xapo, needing to raise fees and limits, if not just fold like Faucetbox some while back. Like I said before, these microwallets are in their twilight, one of the unfortunate casualties of rising costs of transaction. Perhaps once everyone is on Segwit, things might improve, though I doubt it will do little more than prolong the life of these services.

Anyway, no, these txs won't be lost forever, not as long as Coinpot broadcasts them. But since you'll be switching over to LTC (good idea), I've submitted all these txs for acceleration but can't say if they'll be accepted since they are QUITE large (100k or thereabouts?). Let's wait and see now.
