I think it will take one month to pay NRE and sign agreement.
Ken said it will take weeks to nail the deal dwon, two weeks ago.
After NRE paid, eASIC will takes two weeks to design, two weeks to tapout.

In this case, we will eventually ditch the "E" and call it a TAPOUT when we refer to BFL and Activemining in an MMA fight:

Quote
To tap the floor or an opponent in an act of submission. As in Jiu Jitsu, the losing party, as opposed to being seriously injured or rendered unconscious will tap to admit defeat.

Looking forward to the tapout, BFL.   Cheesy

Actually he said it would take "a couple of weeks", three weeks ago. I think they are on the verge of completing the conversion now based on Ken's last update.

I caution everyone that it will take us a couple of weeks to complete the painstaking process of getting all the funds converted and on to eASIC.

Looking forward to the tapout, BFL.   Cheesy

A little bird told me that the BIG news will come by next Saturday (no, nothing to do with these break even Avalon chips).
I would normally keep this a secret and buy more, but I'm all-in, baby.   Grin

The believers, the tragically optimistic, the uneducated and the ill-informed.  Cheesy

Sadly there is not likely to be a shortage of the above-mentioned, meaning the fools at BFL will have this strategy explicitly validated every time someone pre-orders.

Beware the weak hands!

So, a 600GH/s PCI-E card? Although they have in the specs +/- 20%, so it can turn out to be a 480GH/s card while falling in-spec. Great wording there! Grin

Even better, the picture is misleading as it's a 350W PCI-E card with a blower-type fan? That cooling solution doesn't work for a 350W TDP card. Even a GTX Titan/780 has a great vapor chamber cooler and it's a 250W TDP GPU.

I agree completely.  BFL has totally underestimated the cooling needs of their product once again.  However, once again, I'm fairly sure they won't realize it until they start making prototypes with the chips.  Leading to a hasty redesign and many subsequent manufacturing delays as they wait for re-designed custom coolers.

I think the reason they are doing the pre-order now is that they are running out of funds to pay for the production of the existing units they are delivering.

I'm waiting on a Jalapeño from them, pre-ordered in March - (DOH! Should have read the forums first!!!!) - I'm probably going to put it on ebay as soon as I get it.
