It's great to see network hashrate going down. Finally small miners can get some deros.
Good luck!

Market is crashing and many miners are quitting. Only the strong will survive.

it's just a coin for mining or the blockchain it is used for other infrastructure projects that pay for the transaction.

Shush, you're going to jinx us!

I gave up on mining with either of my decent CPUs (340 and 440 H/s) and put my one RX 570 back on it (720 H/s), but even it only brings in about 3 DERO per day. I still feel this is very rich for a coin that isn't on a real exchange; I can bring in the same amount in USD terms mining UBQ or MUSIC with this GPU, both of which also have interesting use cases and are listed on Bittrex.

DERO Draft WhitePaper uploaded. Pls suggest, contribute your ideas.
As DERO is new blockchain several additional features are planned.
https://github.com/deroproject/documentation/blob/master/WhitePaper.md

FEW OF THE CHALLENGES
IDENTITY AND KYC: VERIFICATION AND LIMITING MISUSE
    VOTING: SAFE, SECURE, AND TRANSPARENT
    ASSET MANAGEMENT: PRIVATE AND AUDITABLE
2FA AUTHENTICATOR: SECURE PASSWORD MANAGEMENT AND ACCESS
    INTEGRATION WITH TELECOM GATEWAYS

For complete details pls see white-paper.

I suspect you are trying to troll, but your command of English is too poor for your trolling to be effective.

But in case you aren't trolling, Cryptonote coins require much less energy to find block solutions and there is also little advantage in hashpower of GPUs over comparably priced CPUs, and often a considerable disadvantage when power use is factored in. For example, my Ryzen 5 1600 hashes Cryptonote at 440 H/s, uses an additional 55W to do so, and cost me $200US; in contrast, my RX 570 hashes at 720 H/s, uses 120W and cost me $250 (not that you can buy one for that price these days...), and let's not even consider my Nvidia GPUs - they deliver terrible relative performance on Cryptonote from both a power use and cost per H/s perspective.

thank you, I'm starting to get acquainted with the project and start to learn a lot about it, I hope that the infrastructure will be used by many companies for their business.

What are the odds someone wants to write a noob tutorial of how to solo mine over a network. I see all this mine from the wallet.. not sure how exactly that works. How does one run something like geth or pirl and then point all their rigs at the pc running geth / pirl but to solo mine Dero?

It looks like NH arrives to https://dero.cryptopool.space
The hashrate doubled because of 1 new user. 4Mh/s --> 8Mh/s.

2 CaptDero:

Why not to develop NH-resistant algorithm for difficulty computing ? For example, you can compute average hashrate during 1 week and one standard deviation for this period: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_deviation

If at some moment the network hashrate jumps over that standard deviation, the difficulty goes to the moon until the moment when the hashrate returns to the normal interval. Of cause, by this we reduce the coins emission, but we will be protected from the network abusing by the NH, and we will have more fair coins distribution among the miners, and more healthy network.

I specially registered here to suggest this idea.

First thanks for your efforts and time to discuss this.
Although I  personally requested and delayed many NH users and pools. Buts its tough to control/regulate such if you wana keep decentralization word in your blockchain.
NW can be protected only if natural hash rates grows. But believe well established blockchains too have to deal with this.
Diff calculation algo is one of the most critical part of any blockchain and numerous research papers and algos have been put with their own pros and cons.

If as per your say if avg hashrate of one week is calculated then chain have to wait for almost another week to find next few blocks after NH user leaves.
Also we are working to improve algo to tune better.

NH have cost attached and  atm its not economically profitable to use Nicehash and get some DERO, its much cheaper to buy DERO on exchange.
To all who are expecting better exchange, we are exploring that.

Thanks.

It's probably not worth solo mining at this point, best to pool mine. It's a constant payout and easy to setup.

Assume you want to point several rigs/cpu to one daemon. For that you need to join any pool or setup private pool.
For pool setup see https://github.com/deroproject

That depends on how big your farm is. If you have enough hashrate to find blocks on your own there is no point in paying a pool 1%

The official pool was quietly changed to allow NH and at this point its hard to prevent now. When it was a couple of the main pools and the coin was a couple weeks old it was easier to control NH.

It's the natural progression of things
