Hello,

I need advice about my first build.

For now it looks like this:

CPU: Celeron G3930
MB: ASUS PRIME B250-PRO
RAM: Cheap 4GB DDR3
HDD: 5400 RPM SATA HDD (10 years old Smiley)
GPU: 3X RX580 Powercolor Red Dragon 8GB
PSU:Sea Sonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold
Ext. Fans: 3 x 120mm
Risers: No idea which version to choose

I plan to buy 3 more GPU's and another 750W PSU after few months.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

my thoughts about your rig:

The 650W PSU could be to weak or at least working on > 95% load all the time what kills it
Take a new(er) HDD/SSD.. you wont do all installation stuff again when it brakes
For Risers i would recommend you the 006C version so you can power them directly with pcie connectors and not sata (care if your psu got enough connectors)

so long, happy mining

Is this the correct PCI Riser? There is SATA connection to this one.

What PSU do you suggest? I will be dual mining for sure.

Thanks

You are going to want a better CPU once you start adding more cards on that board. At a minimum I would go with a Pentium G4400. If you plan to run Windows, a spinning drive will work, but I would get a 128 GB SSD, which is much faster for the amount of virtual RAM you need to set for a mining rig and is also much more power efficient. A 650 W PSU will likely not have enough PCI-E connectors for you to run 3 RX 580's, I would recommend going with at least an EVGA 750 W G2/P2 or an even better option is an EVGA 850 W G2. Those have 4 PCI-E connectors and it will give you more overhead on the PSU, so it runs efficiently. For risers I always use PCI-E 6-pin risers. They have more stable power with four capacitors, a voltage regulator and a better connector compared to Sata/Molex risers. For cooling I would skip the 120mm fans and put a 20" box fan directly in front of the cards instead. It's much cheaper and efficient at cooling the rig.

New lower power Ver. 008C 6-pin risers:

Seems to be the right Riser.. just dont use the sata cable and connect the pcie connector right to the Riser (sata cant handle over 50w or so and will melt or catch fire when overloaded)
for the psu: here in germany bequiet ist one of the best manufacturer for psus up to 1000w.. Most people on this Board use evga psu so they should be good.
dual mining is extremly stressing the hardware for minimal more profit.. consider that

Dual mining offsets a good part of the electrical bill is the way I look at it. If you just mine and sell what you have immediately it won't add to much more additional  profit, but if you HODL, the coins you mined can certainly make it MUCH more profitable to dual vs single coin mining. Dual mining is just utilizing the unsused clock cycles on the GPU to generate additional profit. GPU's today use reliable solid state components, other than the increased heat, IMO there is no more wear and tear except for maybe on the fans that need to spin faster to cool the additional heat from dual mining. That's why it's also important to use supplemental air flow like fans to help cool the cards.
