Well then what better time and place to bring up how I was treated in the newbies cage when I criticized the very concept of quarantining new people. The majority of responses were not agreeing with me, but reminding me that in order to establish "order" it was a good thing that we should all be in our cages and clap our hands like good little harp seals, because one of us might be a bad apple and do something trollish.
To me it was a microcosm of society where statists give up their freedoms for a little "order". I was disgusted to find this kind of pussy-whipped behavior in THIS place.

Most of those in the newbie forum were Goons who came here to troll, so they're actually right. The forum was created specifically for that reason. Also they're kissing up so that they will be let out early. |

Actually, from what I can tell the Goons are mostly sitting back with popcorn and laughing... and laughing, and laughing. The newbies mainly seem to be a mix of people who recently found out about Bitcoin - quite a few of whom invested near the peak of the market and got screwed, as is usually the way of it - and older users that just ran into technical issues or problems with an exchange. |

You have "when do you think bitcoin is going to go up?" or "which rock star will get behind bitcoin?" This is childish blather from people who certainly have a lot of posting experience. My point is, putting all new people in a cage is insulting to them, and it kills new ideas and intelligent insights that this forum sorely needs.

I'm sorry if you feel insulted. The newbie forum exists as a filter against bots and those who troll until they're banned, just to create a new identity. It also functions well as an incentive for newbies to spend a little time reading, hopefully to better understand how Bitcoin works before posting nonsense. It's cut down on the "I'm the first person to discover the Great Bitcoin Flaw (tm) even though I've never read the white paper!" crap significantly. |
