He posts that in every AsicMiner auction thread, probably didn't bother to read and thinks you are selling 5 shares.

Jup Friedcat confirmed it was a scam. I just lost 21 BTC. I guess there is nothing that can be done?
Pfff, I should have used escrow, but I have seriously had it with people here. How low can you go as a human being, seriously...

He just sold me the shares that he sold you, so friedcat can't transfer them anymore.
Basically he sold 5 AM shares Twice...

Guys, bad news,

I also bought 2 shares from him... I'll add whatever detail I can.

I had insisted on escrow, but John K has already released the BTC to him since friedcat has sent a confirmation email. Does anyone know how the transfer process actually works? I'm afraid that John K gave him the BTC too soon and I might have gotten scammed too..

He got his BTC after friedcat have sent back a message to us all saying the transfers are complete, then John K released the funds to him. but it looks like he tried to sell to multiple people which means he could have sent multiple messages to friedcat requesting a change to the transfer due to error or something to revoke the shares I bought.

I have not seen dividends yet and I guess i will know in a couple hours, this is making my stomach very uncomfortable...I might have been scammed as well.

I checked his address and he also didn't receive the dividends:

161dNzSRYAMLUpeg9uxyqZVLSxuSxCrRKF

Maybe he sold his shares 3 times?

So the one person who used escrow with John K was the one person who got their shares. What a twist!

Seriously though, this should be a lesson for everyone on the forum. I wish everyone here could read this thread one time. You use escrow, you get your item. Its time for the whole forum to get wise and never give another single btc to a scam again. If we don't feed the scammers they will die of starvation and go away.

We need a "Don't feed the scammers" sign like the ones they have for animals in the zoo.

Using escrow is not a simple "no brainer" solution. Bitcoin is decentralised currency, yet John processes significant ammount of deals on this forum and takes a fee for it (about 2% I guess). How it is much different from "centrall regulator we all trust" paradigm?

Lack of trust among peers can be a major problem in the future. I want to become a trusted member of bitcoin community, yet if everybody uses escrow I can not "earn" that trust.

A healthy alternative to using escrow (in my humble opinion) is to arrange deals in public and use digital signatures just like bitcoin transactions work. WoT on #bitcoin-otc are not getting the attention they deserve.

PS:
Previously I was PMed by Diamondstarfall with an offer to buy  5 shares. I asked him to make a public statement so I can buy one share. He made a new topic 4.2 BTC price, but by the time I woke up all shares were sold.

Damn. This is a really terrible situation. You'd think you'd be fairly safe buying shares because you can get the third party that holds the shares to send you the shares if you can prove that you've sent money. So few people use Escrow to buy AM shares too. Cry

Lurking since 2011...

So buying AM direct shares must use escrow.

Several days ago, I am skeptical about that  Diamondstarfall maybe sell his 5 AM shares to several people. Diamondstarfall only have 5 shares.

Diamondstarfall alway does not his address to receive BTC, only by pm to tell his address. He always lock his thread after somebody want to buy his shares.

He posts that in every AsicMiner auction thread, probably didn't bother to read and thinks you are selling 5 shares.

Yes. I think the future of AcisMiner shares is bright. So I want to buy AM shares. Any fault with me?

No it's just that you might have misread the title, I didn't offer to sell AM shares. I guess you are not a native english speaker?
