Sandboxie is a program that lets you run software in isolation on a Windows box.

Could it improve Bitcoin security? I went to the Sandboxie forum and asked them. Here's the thread.

Annona ad! Please keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with Bitcoin itself. All it's scandals are caused by wonky websites and sleazy people exploiting it. The light attracts bugs.

When all this bullshit drys up and blows away, Bitcoin will be stronger than ever.

Installed the app and tried running it 3 times - each time it crashed (Win 7 64 bit)

I think the concept of sandboxie is a good one but it obviously still needs some work.

If you like my post please feel free to give me some positive rep https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=18639

I'm not a fan of security by obscurity.

There's one thing I know: if I were to be malicious and have system rights on your PC, there is no way you can execute a Bitcoin trade without me taking everything from every wallet privkey involved.

Of course, you can try to make it look & feel different by using VMs, weird encryption, blah etc. But in the end, the hacker has your RAM, your keyboard input, your UIs, your network interfaces... no matter how you open and/or decrypt, he can do the same.

Unless, of course, all your software except Bitcoin runs in your sandbox from the moment you installed the system. That works.

The problem is in your TV. I myself use sandboxie on windows 7 x64 and windows xp x32 and it works like a charm.

The paid version do that by default Wink
