Pls correct me if I am wrong!


One S9 Miner usage: 1.3kwH x 24= 31.2kwH per day

30 S9 Miners x 31.2kwH= 930.6kwH per day/30 S9 Miners

Annual Consumption= 930.6kwH x 365= 341,640kwH per year


Is this the right calculation?

Close, but not exactly. While this may be what the machine pulls, the power supply uses some power too. You need to account for this - while the power supply may be pushing 1.3-1.4kW, it may be drawing 5-15% extra or more.

How efficiently the power supply is operating depends on a few factors such as what 80PLUS rating your PSU is (not rated, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, titanium), how heavy a load is it tasked with (most power supplies operate at peak efficient in the 50-65% range), how old it is, and last but not least the operating environment.

If you are not sure what PSU you are going to use, or it's ratings, just assume an extra 10 or 15% of power, you may be a bit over but I think it will give you a better estimate.

With a cheap PSU, sounds possible. These factors come in to play more after some of the parts have deteriorated over time. With a decent-good PSU (bronze or silver) you are looking around 10% I think. This is why I try to use platinum rated supplies whenever I can, gold rated are great too; you'd be looking more around 6-8% at near capacity if my memory serves me well. You can probably look up the exact numbers by searching "80PLUS ratings."

Someone else with more rep may pop in and give you more exact numbers, but they should be searchable if you really need to be on the money. Wink

I think you are off by a factor of 10 in your step where 30 miners consume 93 KWh in a day. I would expect that to be more like 930 KWh, wouldn't you?

Check your math,  you are off by a factor of 10.
Yes but I guess the annual consumption is correct if I'm not mistaken.
