If you've heared some rumours then please be so kind to provide the source of them so people could estimate the quality (or at least try to explain your point of view). Without it your rumours look like another spam thread created by newbies.

There are still many people and bankers who try to scare people about bitcoin because they want some cheap bitcoins to buy. Don't hear them because a sudden crash of 20-30% overnight is not possible considering huge buy volume and buy support we have right now for bitcoin.

hahaha that is true, most people are just spreading fud about seeing bitcoin going over 20% or 10% and they are saying that it would be a huge crash, but one week ago the price was less than 35%

Such rumors have been going on before bitcoin even reached this stage. If you want to base your decisions on rumors, be my guest! Probably you will end up making even a bigger mistake when you sell and see bitcoin soaring higher until you are scared to buy even at $50000.

The fact is no one knows and you should not invest what you cannot afford to lose, but you should know that if it is by rumor, we should have been back to $1000 by now.

When you say rumours is there any actual reason to support it or just people talking? I could say it will drop 80% in december but there's no basis behind it. Could bitcoin drop 20-30%? Yes - it could. Will it? - probably not. Does it really matter? - it shouldn't because the price will almost certainly recover in time.

My thoughts? I think you need to stop spreading rumours that generate FUD around newcomers and btc users on the forum. Don't believe anything you read on the internet, and don't bring it here on the forum.
Just hold your coins and don't give in to 'panic sell'.

There are a lot of bitcoin expert wannabes that says what will happen next to bitcoin's price and I'm getting tired of reading those things. But still, there are real people who are experts in this kind of field and if you could post the link to where you heard that rumor it would be much appreciated. We can evaluate the person who said that if what he's saying is true or just something that would throw us into shambles depending on his/her credibility in this field.

If you dont sell it when its price fall it dont really matter for you.  you will still have 1 BTC no matter if is worth $10000, $20000 or $3000. One Bitcoin is one Bitcoin.

some random dude said it on the internet, it MUST be true then

and why do you think it is a weird thing? or call it rumor? 30% drop is actually a common thing to expect after each big rise like this.
go here: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd set the interval to something like 1 Day and you can zoom in and pan left. check the price from $200 (2015-6) to $14000 (2017-12) you can see all the drops so far.
after each big rally (eg. $317 rally in 2015-6) there is big drop (-37% in this case down to $198).
more recent example: from $1350 to 891 (-34% drop) back in 2017-3

now we are on the rise. soon this round of rise will end and there will be some drama and FUD and price will fall down. about 10% correction. then it is possible to become bigger and go down as big as 30%.
