Can we get the windows Mac-Qt build?

Fixed that for you Smiley

You mean in general?  Or with this patch?

Which just seem to add the overhead of checking a timer for each loop, and abort earlier.. maybe a better approach would be to have a limit n, check the time it takes for n at the end and raise or lower n for the next time?

Oh, and a mac build of the original code if you meant that.

I meant in general and as always your builds are the best. Thanks twobits!

Here is one more build, it's probably extraneous with the two I've already provided, but if anyone wants to try it out they can. Again built from official codebase. This one is optimized for the core i7-avx.

All your builds result in crashing for me Sad.  Windows 8 i5 Ivy Bridge.

Yeah same ( release 11, 12 and 13). Windows 8 i7 Sandybridge. Crashing as soon as the GUI comes up.

Wouldn't put it past being a win8 issue... Your earlier builds worked though...

Let's just say, you have no idea how critical time to market now is. I could wait a couple more months so to have a more 'perfect' thing for you, but then what's the impact to the overall competitive landscape? You can feel cozy in your conspiracy theory about me, whatever you like. But at least get the facts straight. The most improvement in the stock miner was from me yesterday actually. My post earlier was to warn the contributors of the danger messing with core protocol code without going through development process. Ask any competent crypto developer about whether what I said was true. I did not mean to diminish their enthusiasm to contribute and help, on the contrary I appreciate their participation.

I agree, the best miner code so far is from Sunny King. Thank you for the contribution, at least this coin is fun.

Is this for the SandyBridge avx, or Haswell's avx2?

not avx2. http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/i386-and-x86_002d64-Options.html

if you're only setting a couple hundred pps mining isn't worth it. Difficulty has shot up in the last day

Give one of these a try and see if it does the same thing for you.

OK. First builds from today I accidentally had UPNP disabled by default, this time I changed it back to enabled by default which is how my builds from yesterday were set up.

Here's another to try: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lbua3xh5exypx75/release16_sandybridge_i5_conservate_opt_w_mfpmath_sse.zip

This has the -mfpmath=sse flag added. Shouldn't make a difference for you I wouldn't think, but it's the only other thing I had enabled yesterday that I don't today.

Here's the last build to try from me tonight... this one just uses -mtune=generic so it should run on most CPUs supposedly...

I just found this thread. New to Primecoin and trying to catch up on all of the news/info/updates/etc..

I just installed your release 11 build a few minutes ago and it's crashing immediately. Client doesn't even start to open up, just gives me the option to close program or check online for a solution.

Here is what I'm getting in the "Problem Details" box:

<snip>

These are processor specific builds. If you're lucky, one of the ones I linked here will work for you without crashing. If not... you can download the official client with the slow mining implementation, or learn to compile on windows yourself. Wink This compilation is pretty good: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=252931.0

Bummer that generic doesn't work for you either.
