Yes.  People have to understand why bitcoin is going up so fast.  It isn't because of speculation.  It isn't because people want to make more US$.

It's because the decentralized economy is replacing the centralized one.  The decentralized economy will keep growing until it completely absorbs the old world centralized economy, which is in the 100s of trillions.  In 10 years time, people will laugh at fiat currency, just like we laugh at newspapers and encyclopedias.

So your $5000 is in the best place for the future, because you got rid of a depreciating asset (US$) which will soon become obsolete, for the thing that will have the most value in the future economy.

I know this sounds like --to the moon crap talk---- but Ive got that feeling that bitcoin will reach 20000 sooner then you think. This is not because of the fundamentals of bitcoin, there are other coins (litecoin ect..) that are as good and better ,faster cheaper ect. Its because everyone knows bitcoin , even my mother although she dosnt understand it. People want in to the crypto world and they gotta buy BTC to get there. On top of all this I think the BTC and crypto community are all confident that BTC is just going to keep going because no matter how muny bumps it has had it survives and flourishes. That is the most important part,  people have confidence in it. Thats why I think and hope your gonna be ok.

should've done it earlier but still, welcome to Bitcoin. It's always a good decision to buy BTC so don't ever question it. Just remember that btc is volatile, so don't worry if you start seeing your coins going down, especially if there's a pullback/dip in the price. Other than that, you'll be glad that you bought @ 13k, because by the current projection, we might see 15k this month.

You will never know the output until it will happened. Is that a good decision by OP? Generally at any price level, anyone can enter as long as they know what they are doing and accept all the risks associated the moment they bought the coins.

And to your last statement, day trade? short term? I don't think it will work for now based on current price behaviour especially for an average bitcoiner as they are only increasing the risks of losing.

This kind of comments make me always afraid of the market. Never think you're earning free money in bitcoin because of getting blind with the current bullish market.

Believe me that's the best thing you can do with the money. Investing your money into the Bitcoin is not only profitable but is also a part of contributing sum of the existence to the Bitcoin community. As for now we know that Bitcoin is the best long term investment the time live trading as both of these thing will give you more profit then any banks could pay you. It's not like we can tell you for certain when something is a good choice or not, for most of us we have no idea what to think of the market and it is as much of a crapshoot trying to guess the price in the future as playing craps itself. There's simply no valuable information we can tell you beyond wishful speculation, the best you can do is wait and see where it all goes. There's nothing that guarantees how valuable your position is, but so far the market looks up according to what you said, so you're already ahead of the ball game.

It may have not been best decision but it certainly is not a bad decision neither. Now what this is going to depend on is how long you can hodl onto your bitcoin because if you panic when it goes down (it will eventually go down a little) then you are in for no fun but if you keep calm then by next year end you should likely be in the green, more so than any traditional asset you could have attained.
