Oh, and the internal arrangement of the 10-port hub is three four-port hubs, two ports of the first hub are connected to ports 1 and 2, the remaining two ports are connected to the next two hubs, which connect to port 3 to 6 and 7 to 10 respectively.
Edit: Next, not new, and, as pointed out by someone else running the same hubs, I've examined the internals, the power traces are reasonably wide (about 2mm), but I'll see how things are holding up on the ones I'm using when I add a third one to the duct.

Nice review. I especially like the idea for the cooling duct.

The D-Link DUB-H7 definitely works with 6 units on the Pi, there's a guy who was running 30+ erupters with the D-Link hubs, he posted it on Reddit with a cool 3D printed enclosure. Anyways as a reference I also have a D-Link hub and it's running off my Pi without issues.

Shipping just 1 to me cost $15 but 6 cost $19. Just wanted to add I picked up one of these and mine will only run 9 erupters at full speed. You can connect 10 but they slow down to around 300mh/s each then. It also does NOT work with a raspberry Pi which is what I bought it for Doesn't seem to recognize it at all.

Hello all, I already posted this in the newbie section though to get the proper exposure I'm posting it here..
A co-worker and myself recently picked up two of the Satechi 10 port hubs to test out some of the ASICMiner USB Block Erupters and seem to be having nothing but issues so I was wondering if anyone else out there has used them with success?
Basically the situation goes like so:
With one block erupter it will run for a little over an hour and then I'll get the solid green light and CGMiner spams Comms Error.
With two or more block erupters they run for maybe 30 seconds if that and then I get solid green lights on random units, sometimes they will come back online and then just go back offline, same deal with CGMiner spamming Comms Error.
I then took my D-Link DUB-H7 hub and connected it to the Satechi 10 port with one erupter in the D-Link hub and now it has been running for days without issue.
I have the same behavior from pluging 8 Eruptors on a black Anker 10 ports hub. Maybe software could workaround the situation as: 1. if you wait a couple of minutes, the miner exit that state. 2. Restart cgminer does the trick as well 3. Unplug/plug the faulty miner fix it also.

I was getting that on my two 10-port Ankers using a USB fan blowing down from one of the USB ports on each.
I'd have to unplug an eruptor or few and plug them back in ordr move them.
now though that those stupid USB fans died and i instead have a case fan sitting directly on top of the eruptors, they work nicely.
So I think the USB fan just wasn't getting them all cooled as well as a case fan sitting directly on top of them all is doing.

Added TeckNet to the table. It's only about a $1 per port cheaper than Anker. @markm: Maybe it's not the cooling, but rather the power draw by those fans, which reduced stability of the miners of the remaining ports? I bought 3 DUB-H7 as they were the cheapest ones available in my country, saving on import taxes. Will report how they work once I actually get the miners to plug into them

I am running one right now on a R Pi. it also worked fine on my Windows 7 PC. It can support up to 6 BEs. But some like to leave some head room and only run 5. The photo below shows the D-Link hub in action.

I've had 6 USB erupter miners running on an $11 Digital Innovations 7 port hub 24/7 for weeks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/151034583099EDIT: Only 5 miners are running on the Hub. The sixth is directly in the netbook. Sorry.

Sipolar 20-Port | 20 | 20 (?) | ? | ¥420.00 (~$70) | 3.50 (?) | 1 |
Short evaluation- DO NOT BUY THIS HUB. Long evaluation - I bought this hub, thinking 90 watt, 20v, should be able to handle up to 30 usb eruptors, without a problem, but .....I just received mine and right off the bat, you could not run more than 12 miners in it, any more than that and the additional ones do get recognized, do not get assigned a com port number , but neither bitminer, nor CGminer, can run. In addition, the hub is split into two 10 port hubs internally (It has two usb cables coming out of it (one for the left 10 and one for the right 10)). I took it apart, and there seems to be a spot for a 2nd power adapter on the PCB, but there is no plug receptacle, I may put one in there, but there is some soldering involved and I am not the best at that. Having one cable plugged into the PC from the hub results in the hub identifying one set of 10 USB eruptors running with no problem. Plugging the USB cable in the 2nd usb port results in the other 10 being recognized, but when you plug in both, it looks like it recognizes everything (all 20) until you run CG Miner. Then CGminer crashes and you cannot run. it will work with up to 12 USB eruptors in it, in any configuration (6+6, 8+4, 10+2) but any more than that and cgminer crashes. Now, to be clear, I am running CGminer with other hubs (two 7 port and one 10 port(and more than 12 USB eruptors, so I know its not a CGMiner configuration issue.), plus, bitminter doesn;t recognize more than 12 as functional either. Save your money, this hub is not the answer for running 20 USB miners at once (even though I wanted it to be.) I finally received this hub 3 days ago and it's a POS.... so I definitely confirm Garfield's conclusion. I wish you had reviewed ot before I bought it. it looks solid and promising but it can't handle more than 15 and runs hot. you also get unpredictable stoppages on Eruptors. as Garfield concluded, don't bother with this POS

Has anyone tried this hub yet? The comments say it comes with a 5V, 5A power adapter. If so, it looks like it could be good for ten USB sticks and a fan. It's also USB 2.0, so it might work with a RPi. Not very space efficient, though. https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e5be/

I wouldn't think so either, but it's the first hub I've seen that: 1) is available for purchase (the older models aren't for sale any more) 2) can possibly run 10 devices 3) maybe works with a RPi (since it's USB 2.0). All the other hubs on the master list with that many usable ports are USB 3.0.

holy moley... the AX750 i got is rated for +5V@25A (125W) on ATX... how the hell is it working then with 2.5W*49 122.5W ? Huh???
Update - I went digging in the PC graveyard the other day and scavenged an Antec Trueblue 480W. +5V@38A The Cambrionix doesn't seem to care if you use a 20 pin PSU. No heat on the wiring, so I'm going to skip the 20/24 adapter. Caveat is that this was a top of the line power supply ten years ago - it could quit at any moment. Also +12V@22A doesn't leave much overhead for K16s, but I only have two ordered anywho. Also, to the bastard that bought out one of these A6's from eBay yesterday before I saw it - you need a bigger power supply than +5@28-30A to run 49 ports.

Does the pluggable USB 3.0 design allow for you to plug in the erupters side by side? It looks a tiny bit small to me. Has someone actually tried?

Another question that popped into my head. Has anyone tried plugging a USB 3.0 hub into a USB 2.0 hub, then plugging the 2.0 in a Raspberry Pi? Does that enable the Pi to work with the USB 3.0 hub?

As much as I hate to repeat myself I posted a review of the Juiced 10-port hub in another thread( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263577.msg2824064#msg2824064) so I'll paste it here: ------- I bought the Juiced 10-port from Amazon and suggest getting something else. It'll run 8 erupters but when you plug in a 9th it starts to lose contact with one, then another, then another and the only way to fix that is either restart cgminer or unplug/replug the miner. The Anker's extra amp makes a big difference. Adding insult to injury my Raspberry Pi can't see this hub at all, so I think I'm going to order the Anker from Amazon and return this one.
