Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters | NanoFury NF1 | BPMC Red Fury | Ant U1

Well,my old yardsale USB hub died.So,I went to Staples & found a 7 port powered hub with 5 volt,2.6Amp A/C adpater for $42.A little pricey,but so far it works with 3 BE's,gonna try 4 in few minutes.

I'll be back with more info.It seems to work...I was in a pinch

Edit: bad news,only good for 3 BE's.When theres 4 they kinda freak out & random ones don't hash at top speed

the ports on the USB hub above look too close together, probably only good to get 4 USB erupters going.

I have ordered Power supplies below and awaiting arrival from China.  
Being 8A and USB block erupters draw just over 500mA, it should be safe drawing 5A to 6A and thats below 80% load on the power supplies.
I will post back results when I get and have tested them.

Yes, they seem to be a bit too cose. The distance between ports should be a little wider than the width of the USB port: 12+mm

I tested with two Erupters. One runs without any air moving around it, the other lies flat on P4-grade heatsink with copper core and as much contact surface as I could get. The first one hashes at 280~310, the other one at 338, and the uncooled one gets twice as many HW errors. Switching which one gets cooled, switches performance figures as well. So yes, cooling plays some role. However, a bank of closely sitting 18 Erupters (in 3 D-Link hubs, which lie one on top of the other), which get cooled by one Acrctic Breeze fan blowing strait at them, all run at 335 and 1-7 HW errors each (after 10 hours).

I found that without any cooling, they run around 335Mhash and about 1.3-1.8% HW errors. minimal cooling or airflow improves it to about 335.5mhash and 0.9-1.3% HW errors. (i have a usb fan in the mail because i hate how hot these get in proximity to my fingers (laptop))

Just tried one that does not work even though it says it has a 5V 2.5A AC adapter:
Only was able to get one erupter hashing.

The 10 Port USB 3.0 Hub with a 12V 3A power adapter from Gearmo has been working exceptionally well for me using all 10 ports, especially @ $49.99 on Amazon.

I bought 4 of these and they have been stable for well over a week now.  Not a single issue.   The only drawback is they are USB 3.0 which probably won't work with a raspberry pi.

I'm running hundreds of them, for weeks now, with cheapest hubs I could find on amazon, at sauna level ambient temps that make bfl devices cower in perpetual throttle down. Per port cost ~$3 per port, including the power source. 5 minutes or less of soldering per hub.

Soo, what soldering do you have to do?

From your picture, I count ~150 BEs so you 've probably hit the USB 127 devices per bus limit.

Care to share your experience on that?
