I think it would be c++ hand down. I have tried many languages and this thus far is the easiest to understand and it has far reaching capabilities. A whole bunch of support online if you ever get stuck and you will feel like a true hacker.

I started with python. I think it is very simple to learn. Which ever language it is, the most important thing is that at some point you'll experience your program not working, at that point you can't quit, but have to keep pushing and trying to find the answer.

I think python seems to be the easiest programming language to learn as a beginner, from they you can move to php.
