I'm sitting on BTC. But have a crap load of Alts....all the $$$ are being sucked up by BTC now. I'd like to see BTC go sideways for a month at $15k

and give LTC and other altcoins a chance to get some wind under them....and adjust proportionally in price...I mean LTC was 50 bucks when BTC was 3k or so.

Damn, that would be proportional, about $250 LTC...hot diggidy! Would also adjust upward dramatically for other alts!

I say it will continue rising till the end of this week and from the next which is the second half of December too, the price will start slowing down and getting reversed and fall down. correction is like always about 5-10% but with all the fresh money that has been coming in and investing in bitcoin the number of weak hands has grown significantly too!
that means a bigger panic sell due to a couple of simple FUD. and you know even the old ones would work on the newcomers. just using the classic "bitcoin is Ponzi scheme" can scare the peepee out of most of them
I'll be at my bank getting a loan and selling my house to buy that dip...

This is what has really thrown me for a loop below:

Anyways, I voted for "have no clue". The trades are as quick as one step indicating that there are too much traders in the markets and most of them must be regular users who just taking every available supply to hold.
It's so unpredictable unless you know what those whales are up to.

some people have just got hit with the reality and are not pouring their money into bitcoin without any hesitation. this is what a fear of missing out looks like in my opinion.
this is great while it lasts but i am now afraid these same people are going to cause a bear market after a very long time of having no bear market, unless you call the short drops as one!

When I reply this topic, the bitcoin value in coinbase $ 15,975.01, before I start typing at $ 16,000.00, I think this year will go up to $ 20,000.00 and then alternate coins will go up.

until 2019 could possibly exceed $ 100,000.00 per bitcoin, but this also depends on outstanding issues and rumors, more and more issues and rumors are increasingly benefiting the big whales.

That is my bet. My BTC hoard is as good as it is gonna get...from mining anyway.....I've been into ALTS on the expectation that if/when BTC peaks and hopefully goes sideways

for the next leg up...and some $$$ will be released to go to alt coins...they will pump to the proportion of $$ to BTC the were at say $2.5k ..that would be huge

so my 2nd hoard is LTC for that reason.....then when the alts pump and then wane....the $$ go back into BTC as a safe store of value on alt pump and dump

so rinse/wash/repeat

on the other hand with futures market...is not when BTC goes down in price (it's usual .due to fear and ..FUD....of say 20% or so) the lows will go lower?

and the pumps not as much...with these futures in place and their 'circuit breaker' options...

In other words, by taming BTC price, you limit its range on pumps, and give more legitimacy to its dumps? Mainly due to low volumes on the exchanges

and the temptation to 'short bitcoin price'?

Educate me, please? Likely this is incorrect...but the people explaining futures and bitcoin in the press, seem universally AGAINST bitcoin and the futures

market for any crypto..thus the FUD/noise on all this.

The price is probably going to go higher with the hype, regardless of the market's reaction with the futures trading going on. The all time high is going to get pushed back to at the least, $25k with the 2018 rallies, whether that will be the highest i don't know. It could be way higher and the entire bubble extended by mass adoption of bitcoin as a currency and average joes becoming traders of BTC.

We're definitely going to see corrections just like yesterday's, many times within the run up.

It's not going to be just an exponential growth curve without pullbacks, much the opposite. Be prepared to hodl all the way and not be affected by what others say about btc.
