Hi,

I am afraid I know relatively little about Bitcoin, but it is something that I would like to know more about.  While I appreciate that I have largely "missed the bus", I feel it is something still worth learning about and possibly investing in for the long term.

Could anyone kindly give me any advice on how to get started with learning about Bitcoin please?

Thank you.

there are two sides to bitcoin.
the first thing that you keep constantly hearing is the investment side where price goes up and down and makes traders happy! for that you need to learn about trading and know the risks that the volatile market of bitcoin has.

the other side is the technology and the currency part. for that you can start at bitcoin.org there is a good enough starting information to get you started on the basics and how things work. also you can read about different wallets and their differences there.

I guess you just need to spend some time reading reading in this bitcointalk forum. much knowledge you can get. and I think knowledge is something very important in the crypto world.

Explore this forum, read different threads, and that is how you could start with bitcoin. This forum contains all the knowledge that you should know about bitcoin, if you have another questions, then you could ask it on the thread, or you could even create your own thread, and if you feel that you have enough information to join signature campaigns to earn bitcoin, then you could join and start your journey here in the bitcoin world.

There are different ways though, if you didn't know about this forum, you could just simply google all the questions that you wanted to ask about bitcoin, and do the things that you know on how you could earn bitcoin.

Well if you are using this website to earn money or earn bitcoins, I would suggest that you should focus more on the activities or high quality post that you could get or do. Then if you have enough activities, the next thing you could do is join a decent amount of bitcoins or money in a week, month, or even per post. Although this needs a lot of time and effort, I guess it is still worth it if you really want to earn bitcoins.

I agreed with you. Every one of us here starts by reading, researching and exploring bitcoin. You need to have a sufficient knowledge about bitcoin first before you start investing bitcoins. For now, just explore this thread, read some topics that you think may help you and ask some members for help. Thats the first thing I did when I was a newbie in bitcoin.

If you are not ready to put a large number of money to buy bitcoin. Find a way to do jobs that pays with bitcoin if you have skills in something online, Like managment or marketing, even coding. That way you won't risk as much of your money. But if you want to invest i advise you to invest in ICOs as they can give you more profits by time. Bitcoin is still going to raise its value but it's your choice and how much you can afford that matters.

My habit is to come to the BTT forum every day. There are many professionals, there are mining, investment, understand the various techniques of encryption currency. If you like this industry, I think interest is the best teacher. Come on, my friend.

This is the right place to start. Just follow the link provided by Kprawn and don't allow yourself to be confused by the many varied suggestions especially of those talking about making money and signature campaigns and all that. What you need first is knowledge.

When you are at the Beginners and Help, read through as much as you can and do not limit yourself to that section. Come to the forum everyday and read through people's questions and comments.

Get a feel of the forum by visiting different sections, but avoid sections such as don't add any value to your quest for knowledge.

As you read through, note people who make reasonable comments about issues and click on their usernames. This will take you to their profiles where you can see a link to read through their views and comments.

This is necessary because a lot of people are posting for money not to make sense.

When you have unanswered questions, areate your own posts and ask them or use the search function on the top right corner of the forum and search for that question. If for Instance you want to know how to trade Bitcoin type 'how to trade Bitcoin' there.

Aside the forum use google to search answers to your questions and note good websites that give you sensible answers

I think you should start by investing directly in Bitcoin and then choose to either be an trader in the alternate coins.
