I think that it will take few more years for the other cryptocurrency to become a mainstream currency. And it will remain to be a financial asset for time being. XRP and WTC may come out the earliest to the market with the things going around them.

In my opinion the only alt-coins that are going to fare well in the coming years or be able to secure themselves a place in crypto are the coins that bring something new to the table; the coins that fill a need, or bring a solution to a problem are the ones that are going to be adopted, traded and worth investing into.

The current fees, and slow transaction confirmation speed will most likely drive the price of something like DASH up, because it is a pretty solid answer to the biggest problem of the day for bitcoin. It seems like alt-coins do their best when bitcoin is at it's worst, so you have to analyze which coins are actually remedying a pain-point and tell those apart from the pump-and-dump ICOs.

Bitcoin remains the most secure and still has had a couple of issues over the years in that area, but people can't feel secure using a coin if they can't move their coins freely, either.. So this gives you an idea of what coins to keep your eye on and when. It is also incredibly difficult for the regular person to get into bitcoin, acquire a bitcoin, so in that respect other coins also give beginner's an easier time when they're first getting into crypto; there are just too many variable to tell you a list of coins that will perform, but some simple criteria will give you an algorithmic approach to picking alt-coin winners..

Agreed. We have a lot of great projects for now many projects share same ideas. We will see in the future which project will remain and which will so to speak disappear.

Then we have those coins with a big brand: ETH, BTC, LTC, DASH, XRP
These coins will remain no matter what. I don't say they will be on top of everything in 10 years but they will remain during all ups and downs.

I can imagine that we wlll see the rise of a better distribution of singer, songwriter, artists in general will have the opportunity to get fairly contributed for the first time.

Ethereum is already a mainstream coin and it is been used in the eth based smart contracts and many wallet providers also enabled the ethereum payment option next to btc. So clear with that first.
Next to that LTC is almost being mainstream after last big bump in the price chart.
I believe that neo, waves, iota, ethereum classic and zec and all followed next to BTC. So people will greedy invest on this upcoming years like bitcoin.

I do not agree with you. Bitcoin has a lot of problems. Soon it will lose its dominant position in the market.

I think you should consider BTC as store of value/wealth. As cryptocurrency for now bitcoin can't deliver, but maybe bitcoin doesn't has to be the world crypto currency. It can be Dash, Ripple, monero or whatever.
Bitcoin will improve and bitcoin will stay ahead of everything - not technology-wise but fundamentally

I'm not sure mainstream is the proper word when talking about altcoins but I believe that, considering the pressure governments are doing on cryptocurrencies and ICOs, the future is for the utility tokens that can become highly adopted, even if in a niche industry. Good examples would be Raiden, AppCoins and OmiseGO.

If you are talking about altcoins other than Ethereum which will mainstream with real world usage then ok at VeChain , they are rebranding it to VET and they have multiple partnerships
