So, lets predict when will Bitcoin crash into the tripledigits. I think that after the upcoming flash crash and some short bulltrap, we will see an extreme fall probably in mid to late January, what do you think?

Surpised to see how prodhoun, kwukduck and the rest of people announcing the end of bitcoin since years ago haven't hung themselves up on a tree yet. Oh well, I guess one day you will be right, but that day nobody will care, because it will be impossible for anyone with half a brain cell to be on the red, then when the next bull run starts, holders just keep getting richer as usual.

bear market ? seems like that at this moment but will not last forever,
because in the future we will face another listing that will happen in Q1 2018,which mean the price should take another leap again.
the correction will happen and at best we should see it for more than $3000+++,
3 digits ? i do not think so mate,
there're a lot of factors that we need to see if we're talking about its average price.
the expenses that we need to spend for mining it,the rewards that we will get for each block and lastly difficulty that keep increasing from time to time.
so in my opinion 3 digits will not happen even though we made our start at $700 in january.
well everything can be happen,we may be can see it because of flash dump.
but i doubt that the price will be around that point for a long time because it's not worth that low to be honest.

Thanks for this. I'm tired of the "When $20k?" and "When $50k?" and "Will Bitcoin hit $70k this year?" threads.

I'm pretty terrified to sell and I plan to hold through the top and will just start shorting after the major dead cat bounce. I'm sort of a delusional bull long term, but I'm tired and I want to see the late bulls bleed.

Mom and Dad panic buying BTC at $17k?! That's just asking for blood! Bring back Karhu!

Yeah, this isn't done yet. I'd be surprised if we don't go vertical towards the $25,000 area. This needs a blow-off top. What signs are you looking for as far as a longer term top?

A bear market will eventually occur as bubbles always end with. But for now I think the trend will still be bullish and rallies will keep on coming. I can't see why bitcoin cannot skyrocket to up to $25k-30k still from this point considering how bullish people are and how willing they are about buying bitcoin now compared to 2 years ago when price was cheaper by a mile.

It'll be interesting when the crash happens, though.

As you said, family and friends are now dying to buy bitcoin at 5 digits which worries me. They ain't prepared for a crash.

Got a chart for us? Where do you think we are in the historic count? That is to say..... after this rally has topped, are we expecting doom/long term bear? Or simply another correction before the insanity continues?

This is the problem. We've had people like OP thinking they are geniuses calling tops for years, and higher highs keep happening. Nothing guarantees that this was the top. It could be another of these breaks that bitcoin takes for a while, only to hit higher highs at the end of the month, then another monster bull to $30k, and eventually, it crashes and the floor was what was considered the top buy people like OP, and they end up looking like idiots (once again, lost count). Therefore, simply hodl.

Just for starters, the blue box area is expected


After that, a little longer of a corrective move before heading higher. Perhaps luc's 10k retest?
Don't forget, we have the potential to create a candle similar to the final monthly candle in November 2013. Something around 480% before the longer bear market could take hold. Currently, we are about 30% the way up that candle, so another 2x or so from here before the year end is plausible.

HODLing forever is a terribly irrational strategy. When the cost of mining goes too far away from the market price, when there aren't good fundamentals for this crazy speculatory rally, when there are exchanges pumping the market with fake dollars, when we have actual scalability issues that make companies like Valve abandon Bitcoin because of the current price of transaction fees, THEN you have to reevaluate the reasoning that explains the current price...

Nice bear season you got there... im sure you bought at $12,000 and are now up big time right? Or maybe you didn't buy back in and will now disappear again into the woods until the next "crash"? Seriously, bitcoin bears are the worst group I've seen in finances, they announce doom is coming a bunch of times, never get it right, and eventually get it right and think they predicted anything.

Can't wait to see your excuses at the all time high.

When you say about bear market I already imagine some long term  downtrend which is not suitable with bitcoin because it's dump will be very fast (it will be more like a bear session).

This is going to be highly enjoyable, give the bears some candy after all the punishment they took all year round.

Bears have a plenty of good moments in this year, just remember all major dumps that we had.Imho in a long term cryptos will obviously win but some short term bear things are happen all the time. Don't treat them like loosers.
