Banning Russia from winter Olympics is strict, but fair sanctions I think. There was systematic use of doping by Russian athletes and it's not individual cases. And don't forget about falsificating of doping tests in Sochi 2014 Olympics. And now we see consequences of these actions.
But clean athletes will be able to participate in Olympics under neutral flag. They won't be allowed to wear Russian symbolic, flags and listen to Russia anthem on gold medal ceremony. Putin said that there will be no boycott of Olympic games. I think it's good, because clean athlets deserved to be in Olympics. For some of them it's career achievement and it would be not fair to disallow to participate in Olympic games for these people.

I think it's fair. You can't blame the country for a single incident like that but when it become something normal for the coaches to be getting drugs for the people whose health they should be taking care of it  goes against the ideas of sportsmanship and fair play. They got punished because everybody knew what they were doing, it wasn't a big secret, and they will serve as an example. Hopefully it will deter other countries from repeating this mistake.

I agree that everything is fair, doping is forbidden and everyone knew it. Moreover, the Russian sportsmen are now given an alternative to perform under the neutral flag. I think this is fair enough.

I suspect it is just some political games and this ban is the continuation of sanctions against Russia. I do not think all athlets from this coutry used doping. Unfair.

I am 100% certain that other countries use doping on their sport candidates but that they are really effective about hiding that. Thing is that many people don't like Russia because of the Americans propaganda about that country. Just look how many moves are there in which Russia guys turns out to be the bad guys, blaming them for hacked elections, fake news etc... I just can't believe that all other countries are save heaven they are just better at hiding some things.

Absolutely agree with the better hidding about different countries..But from my point of view, this conflict was caused by geopolitical situation ..its more politic games ..

Every sportsmen using doping, but under bun only Russians. This is unfairness! It is all because of politics, who will next? Who wins a lot of medals? Chineess guys. I think they are the next.

I think it was very good that sanctions were being applied. What the Russians did in Sochi is a scandal. Of course, they should also check other countries like China, US and much more. Sport should be clean.

From what I have read Russia is banned but their athletes can still participate if they pass doping tests.

There are probably Russian athletes who used doping, but certainly there are those who are not.  So I think this penalty is too tough because many fair athletes    lose the chance to compete on W.O.G what is the most important moment for every athlete .

The Americans can't compete with them so they are trying to get them banned. For example, American athlete Simone Biles was given the permission to use the performance enhancing drug methylphenidate, while several Russian athletes were banned for taking the same drug. And in tennis, female athlete Maria Sharapova is made to compete against transgender Serena Williams. It is unfair.

I think it is completely fair for banning Russia  banning from winter olympics. Because, It does not matter whether russia is powerful country or not, doping is the one of the most corruption in sports. For that reason, Russia must suffer the consequences of its unethical behaviours.

Athletes who use dope should be disqualified for life. Sport should be clean, not turn into a competition of chemists. And the Russians with their meldony let them hold their olympiad, where the winners will receive a barrel of steroids as a reward.

The entire sports world takes steroids, sports turned into a competition of pharmacists, to the first time invented a new kind of doping, he won. In Russia, there is no doping, but there are such drugs as meldonium. It is not banned in Russia and is sold in a store. Anyone can buy it. Therefore, the whole scandal is an excuse for humiliating Russia, because it challenged the power of the United States.

It is fair. If you cheat, you risk the punishment, simple like that. There's no point assuming that because other countries are doing the same so Russia should be given a lenient ban.
