I've been lurking on here for a while, figure it's time to start posting. I bought my first bitcoin(when the price was a little lower than it is now), and spent it on a Block Eruper  which I have mining away connected to a RPi running MinePeon. (I know I won't get ROI, Doing it as a hobby  Smiley )
https://i.imgur.com/HOEXNCs.jpg

And then I had a little left over, so I bought a USB SD card reader and a spare SD card from Bitcoinstore.

Just thought I'd share. Cheesy

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing. I am running a similar setup with MinePeon
 and a old R Pi Model A.

Thanks! Smiley And is that a DUB-H7 hub? If not, what's the model number? Just curious as I might end up switching to one of those vs the monoprice hub I have now.

I went with the Anker hubs you apparently can't get any longer.  I'll try the DLinks next

If I'm allowed...
I have a somehow stupid question, but...
But since I have old psu's, why can't I use one of these:

Why not mine from the browser?

Do those fans really help?  Or if you had it to do over again would you have bought something different for cooling and used the 10th port for an extra 333

Nice setup!
I'm also doing it as a hobby, though I'm more optimistic about the ROI. Difficulty will increase, but difficult/price is currently falling so we'll see Smiley

So far, the only thing I have been able to spend my BTC on are paying the fees of my dedicated servers.

Soon I will be getting some USB Block Erupters, can't wait to get them mining Cheesy

The fans do help. The BE's get too hot to comfortable hand with your bare hand. With just a little active cooling, they are warm to the touch but not hot. In most cases you cant use all of the available ports. Must of the hubs I max out at about 3amps. Each BE requires 500ma. So the mak on the D-Link would be 6. 6 x 500ma = 3amps. The determinate factor is the total amperage, no matter the port count. For stability its a good idea to leave a little headroom. If not you may have more hardware error or you miner might shut down. Since I took the photo of my setup, I moved the usb fan and have six block erupters and the 7th slot is open. With the fan in the last open slot, I found that during a restart that 5 miner would start, but the 6th, had to be pulled and reinserted to make it go.
