Assuming the case, I have a paper wallet, can I safely continue with the dialog shown on the screenshot? Or will I lose all my bitcoins?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

It's a watching only wallet anyway according to that screenshot... ie. it doesn't contain any private keys... so you can't use that wallet to spend your coins anyway.

Well, that means as I don't have a non-watching-only copy left somewhere else, I won't be able to spend the money regardless of having a paper backup that has been created befor I change the wallet to a watching-only one?

It means that you will only be able to spend the money using the paper backup.

From the paper backup, you can create a full wallet.  You do not need the watch-only wallet for that process.

Great, I now know that don't destroy my paper backup by deleting the mentioned wallet from my disk. Thank you. Smiley
