So, let say you have bitcoins in your wallet that you are holding for retirement. You work and live in fiat, right? So, you need some money, let say $700 to fix your car. Going to a bank is slow and not guaranteed for many reasons. You need the money now and you can return it in a month. You believe that in a month the price of BTC will be, let say no more than 10% down or 20% up. You go to Lendl, give a part of your bitcoins as a secured deposit and get the cash. You also decide how much to give as a gratitude to the lenders. Lendl keeps your coins and give you the cash. If the BTC price drops to a certain point (depends on how much coins you deposit as collateral) LENDL will sell collateral to the market to return the money to the lenders. If you instead sell your coins for the cash and the price goes up, you will need to buy them back later on much higher price.
