Id say its more a case of litecoin getting the value it deserves. Its always trailed behind bitcoin but the last few months the price became decoupled. It may dump down again but im more inclined to think its just catching up to where it should be.

It seems to be going up very strongly these past few days. I initially thought that it would definitely fall back but it seems to be going strong for now. I'm thinking of buying some for myself, if the strong trend continues.

I think it is going to hit $200 today and dip back to around $160 and stabelize...

Litecoin has fast confirmations and good team behind it.

By the end of 2018 i expect it to be at $500, good for long term investing.

Steam man. They are now accepting only LTC, not BTC anymore (cause btc is slow). That's why the price is rising to the moon.

I suppose that according to the fees at BTC network LTC will be used by many people to make transactions. It's much cheaper now to send crypto via LTC.

I'd take NEM before Litecoin if you're focused on tech. The reason NEM doesn't get attention is because mining groups decide which coins get hyped.. big money controls the game and NEM doesn't get mined in the traditional sense.  Have they done any work on scalability of any of these cryptos in the last 6 months or are they just pumping out generic garbage based on this and that to take advantage of the hype? By they, I mean new altcoins and ICOs?

Scalability, security, low blockchain size, and low power consumption combined with be the future coin.  NEM takes care of low power consumption and perhaps scalability, though there are other scalable blockchain solutions. PascalCoin takes care of blockchain size because of the user account system.. the actual coins are stored in user made accounts which allows the transactions data to be trimmed after a certain time, keeping the blockchain size around 6GB or so. It's also highly private because the paper trail gets erased at the same time.  Once the transaction is confirmed, the data can be erased because the account holds the funds. Since corporations and governments want traceability, this probably won't be widely adopted, but it can be adjusted to keep a transaction history of say 12-24 months or whatever.

Once we can hit visa levels of scalability combining all these attributes we'll have a good crypto currency.   Certainly bitcoin is not the answer, with 14 dollar transaction fees. Any idiot could tell you this. It might be the gold of cryptos but it's not the tech people will be using to pay for pizza in 10 years.

Also, proof of work is NOT the future of the blockchain. The big money mining operations and people that want to cash in from using CPUs and GPUs to get free coins to hash mathematical equations and consuming mass amounts of power are eventually going to have to step aside... in the meantime they can enjoy their day in the sun as the tech continues to evolve.

do you mean steam platform? like in dota2? thats cool if they did accepts ltc instead of btc because btc is kinda slow and pretty costy in such transactions. i didnt play for a month or two now  , thats why im not updated anymore on the current happenings on steam network. but still thats  a good news to hear and probably id be interested playing back in game now  because i could now easily purchase steam gift cards to buy a game and in game items.

Litecoin is now very much fluctuating. He goes to the growth, and then falls to 20% on a weekly basis. You can try this to win, or lose, if you choose not the right time.

The biggest reason for the increase is btc slowing down on the bitfinex. Thousands of people await the btc tradition for 72+ hours, some think that they will not give BitFinex's bitcoins to their owners by creating conspiracy theories

Agree with what you are saying. Litecoin is clearly an undervalued cryptocurrency which has huge potential, but was overlooked and overshadowed by many other giants like Monero, Dash etc. I predicted that it would increase in value sometime before 2018 and it looks like I was right. The developers of this coin and its community never truly gave up on this coin which is why they are enjoying huge profits thanks to its current surge and I am loving it!

I agree with you. When ltc was 0.02 btc I never sold because I believe and like ltc. It dropped down to it's usually +-0.01btc and went down during the price rises btc has been seeing. It went to 0.015btc so I sold a few and kept the rest. Ltc is a great currency that should be used more as a payment method instead if btc seeing as btc is having all these high fee problems

This is not looks like this currency is just pumped. Bitcoin keep growing. Litecoin is the biggest fork of BTC so it under influence of more powerful coins. Buying of Litecoins is good investment now. IMHO.
