This is more like the beginning of the middle. The end of the beginning occurred this year when Bitcoin finally moved out from being a novelty and starting moving to becoming a new asset class. Wall St getting in means eventually they'll start investing directly in Bitcoin, so this is the beginning of the middle - the mainstream rise from mere low 5-digit prices to well into the 6-digits over the next few years.
Bitcoin has begun to gain trust from various parties. We all have seen that there is now a breakthrough and a very high increase going on the price of Bitcoin. I've used it by buying some Bitcoin to make an investment, I'm sure what I'm doing is right. This is an opportunity to gain a much better life.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Tulips didnt crash until one year after futures were launched, so we have about a year I guess.
Hahahaha! Not funny!! This is not tulip bro. There is a lot to bitcoin than it just being a tulip. I am just hoping the LN solves the whole scaling issue and it is adopted and then we start seeing real life usage and a huge demand for bitcoin, then we will end up knowing that this is not a bubble driven value. If you are waiting for a crash, then you better just be ready to tell your kids why you did not buy in now when everyone was busy saving up for their future.

yeah anyone who mentions the word tulips when talking about bitcoin you can just immediately tune out. If someone can't tell the difference between a flower and a revolutionary technology then they are not worth listening to.

Will the 'big money' of investors be spent 'betting' on Bitcoin prices, and not actually invested in Bitcoin in the future?  Could this be the begining of the end for this 'speculative bubble' that we seem to be in at the moment?

Maybe we won't see the price of Bitcoin continually rising in 2018 as it did in 2017...?

 Sad
I think price bitcoin will be increase $20000 in 2018

In that case, you can wipe out 75% of the population. Bitcoin according these people is either a tulip bulb bubble, or an internet boom bubble. I have seen plenty of lengthy articles describing the similarities between Bitcoin and a tech company not making any profits, but still attracting billions in capital during the internet boom bubble. It's insane how some people don't manage to think further than what they have in their mind already. Funny thing however is that something such as Bitcoin that according to them is nothing more than a hype based on absolutely nothing, is still worthy enough for them to report about. They are either governmental shills or just bitter that they aren't part of this revolution due to their stupidity and ignorance.

I doubt it will be the beginning of the end, i find it will be another chapter in the acceptance of bitcoin, there will be a huge acceptance for cryptocurrency and not only that bitcoin will be recognized, other altcoins will be noticed as well and it may be the start of fiat's fall, though a lot will still be bad mouthing cryptocurrency, bitcoin will only show how dominant it could be.

it is tough to say really but things are just getting started. the futures are not the way people buy and end up hoarding bitcoin, the actual markets are. people are literary pouring into exchanges such as Coinbase and Gemeni to buy bitcoin. these exchange servers are having a tough time even handling this increase in demand all of a sudden.

the "big money" that you are talking about is big but it is not bigger than the total money coming from millions of people and coming from "all around the world". that "big money" of yours is so centralized and in one place.
Things are really just getting started. We cannot say how this whole thing will end but rather than going around raising unnecessary FUDs, I would rather be optimistic and see how this will end. I always remember one thing with bitcoin, the stronger hands always win while the weaker hands always live up to regret it and for those calling bitcoin tulips, I am sure they really have no idea about bitcoin.

Cliched I know but I’d say it’s just the end of the beginning. Buckle up!
Haha right to the point buckle up for more pumps although OP dont realize it well all the bitcoins value up until was incredibly huge in a short time and i should say a world record for the largest currency pump on a day with over $1000+. Correction has been implemented so Another buckle up for the fork and expecting good flow of value.

do you think Futures could lead to an increase in Bitcoin price over the coming weeks?
The truth is no one can know if bitcoin price would keep increasing in the long run, but one thing for sure is that CME futures will not be the cause for a huge decline in price and with mass adoption that we will end up having in the long run.

I would better be ready for a huge increase in value. All these happenings are bringing bitcoin to the mainstream and we both know what that means.

Those guys should be ready for what is going to hit them pretty soon. This is not going to end up being the normal game they have always been playing and in the long run, they will get to see that the crypto space is a totally different ball game. I would not be worried about the CME futures since it won't have a major effect on the price of bitcoin and even if they want to influence some manipulations, I would really want to see how that is going to happen.

It will go above than 20k in next year 20k will happen in the next week and I am sure that you will see it soon prices are nearly to the 17k and all this will continue now and bitcoin has become unstoppable now and all this will happen in future that bitcoin will become more precious than anything in this world and currently it has taken over the top of investment list and soon it will be alone in the currency list by kicking out others,

Yes bitcoin future will not bring new money into bitcoin ecosystem directly but the one who will bet on bitcoin price to go up might use some of their his/own money to buy some real bitcoin to pump it and vice versa when he bet on price to go down.

I don't know at which direction price will head but bitcoin future will just add more volatility to already volatile bitcoin market.

looks like there are too many buy orders on futures trading. I checked and people buyin for January 2018 contratcs around price 18.000$
So we will not see below 18.000$ by the end of 2017
The future trading does not have anything to do directly with the bitcoin market and whatever you are seeing are basically bets. I would not be too pessimistic though. I am very sure we are even going to see a bull run very soon and then, most of these guys will know that the crypto market is just a different one they can tamper with even if that is their aim.

Bitcoin will stay up bitcoin ah suffered through many situation before reaching up to these values and I am really thinking about the future that now bitcoin path has become hurdle free and people are accepting and investing into bitcoin without any fear and in return bitcoin is giving them huge profit as well so I don’t think this will end, it was made to hold worlds under its feathers and now it is doing the same thing,
