Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Pretty sure I saw a revision log somewhere... perhaps it was for my own posts?

There seems to a be couple of entries called nuke user in that list, I wonder if this is when all the user info and posts are deleted, as I didn't think a user could be completely removed from the forum?

I believe nuking deletes all posts and bans the user - so their status is also reset to brand new.

I don't think SMF actually stores edits.

There is no log of what specifically was edited. Only way to see that would be to look at backups.
