If you lose a private key, you can not transfer your coins. This is very important in accessing your wallet without your coins will be forever locked. In this situation you can request mod / dev of a certain coin, if they can help in order to return all your coins from the lost private key.

Guys what will happen if you accidentally lost the copy of your private key?..it's still possible to transfer your tokens to your other wallet using your wallet address..?? Does anyone know?..thanks in advance
I don't think that there is other way to retrieve your wallet. Private keys are essential when it comes to our wallet. Without this, we can not access our wallets. It is made like that to secure it from hackers. So losing it means losing all of its content. But if you're talking about ethereum wallet, I think the Keystore File will help you. I just hope you have a copy of it.

Lost private key will be forever lost since wallets are multi encripted, those wallets will be forever lost and will be useless. You can look at the google on how much bitcoins is not circulating in the market because they lost their passwords.

Kiss goodbye to your wallet and any coins that it is inside. When your PK is lost, you can't access it anymore. Also it is impossible to transfer funds from the wallet without accessing it first.

lose your private key, you have lost all the coins in the wallet no one can access your wallet, can say your wallet will be lost and its contents, forever
Might be lost for now but not forever wait until quatum computers become cheap enough for people to buy "Post-quantum cryptography refers to cryptographic algorithms (usually public-key algorithms) that are thought to be secure against an attack by a quantum computer. As of 2017, this is not true for the most popular public-key algorithms, which can be efficiently broken by a sufficiently large hypothetical quantum computer." (could you imagine downloading a entirely new blockchain to your computer every transaction at 10000tx per second)?? Would be pretty amazing and one day it in the future this will most probably be possible It will happen eventually when everyone has a quantum computer but then the defunct nature of the ever changing blockchain is moot. The only way this happens is (lets just say I create a string based on Supersingular elliptic curve isogeny cryptography) n²*(Randomization ad infinitum). Quantum computer looks attempts all cracks at once based on the look... and fails because the base code has been altered after the look. Success! You have stopped quantum crack... but a continuous attack on the main chains will slow the entire blockchain to a near halt. It is not efficient without significant advancements in the architecture that surpass Moore's law on the order of 10 over the next 20 years (assuming quantum computing really hits the scene in 2040ish. Quantum computers for all will step forward before the speed of 0 or 1 machines achieves the ability to do this. The only way would be to have a singular centralized blockchain with this string that changes. All transactions would have to occur on sidechains (huge fan of the sidechain cryptos BTW) to prevent attacks on the main block, while the random string runs forever but it would HAVE to be centralized, and no one is going to approve or like such a centralized blockchain... it goes in the face of every reason we want decentralized currency anyways. The world banking system will probably employ this though as credit's for replacement of cash as it gives them total control... this also negates the value of other blockchains as they will be able to see where all credits go and regulate every purchase through approvals and denials. Blockchain tech is the way that they will control everything ... because we can't get unified behind one and no one is smart enough to make one the Grand Unified Crypto... we have sped ourselves toward the ultimate control mechanism. Its funny that the system we wanted and created will be the undoing of everything we were trying to achieve. Who is John Galt? Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Same story different author.

In this situation you can request mod / dev of a certain coin, if they can help in order to return all your coins from the lost private key. I think the developer will not entertain this type of problem as this is cause by the negligence of the users. Many had reported lost private keys and their coins will be in trap with their wallets and considered lost forever. In doing cryptocurrency the most important thing is your private key, you should keep it in a safe place and always provide a back-up copy.

Not relevant answer to the OP,he is talking about private key. Do you know what is a private key? It is like a stong password will be given at the time of creating our wallet so we need it always if we want to access our wallet.

Yes thats pretty much good as gone. Is there a way of accessing accounts if you loose the device your google 2FA is activated on? and can you change over to another device if you loose the 2fa retrieval code?

Without your Private Keys, you're pretty much screwed. Make sure you look after these and keep them very safe, secure and do not share with anyone.

I do not know how to solve it, because if we lose the private key we lose everything we have on the wallet, MEW also said that can not recover the lost account Private Key, so I suggest that you print it and save it in place safe, and always do backup data regularly

Normally, if you lost your private key, then it means you lost your coin(s). Just like a common joke here; if you dont have the key, then it's not yours! So, be careful when keeping your private key because it's so essential. But if you only lost access to wallet but still have your private key, then basically your coins is still there. Just use regular Bitcoin wallet and you can restore it using your private key.

If the key is lost, then there is no way back because the block system is not designed to support such a system as losing keys and moderators will not help you either.

If you just lost your private key but still have access to your account then yes you can still transfer your coins. If you forgot your password also then you really have very little to no chance of getting your coins. Always have backup plans when it comes to investments and money.

Even admins can not access the wallet. Private key only know by one person not include the admin or the dev. That's why we must save the private key when open new wallet in the safe place and any place.

You have not lost your private key you can get it back.Go to your downloads search for your UTC or Keystore / JSON File, you can recover it with this but you will need your password you used in creating the wallet to achieve this. I have recovered all my lost keys with this.GOOD LUCK

there is two option in accessing myetherwallet, thru private key and json file.if you lose your private, the other way to open your account is thru your json file. if you lost them both, then sorry.there's no way to open and recover account in mew. those are very important things you should keep very well. you must have it in printpaper so whatever happen to your gadgets, you still have your private keys.
