Hello all,
I am posting this news on behalf of rdebourbon (of ypool.net fame).  He is in 'n00b jail' on bitcointalk and cannot post this message himself.

I am very pleased to announce my new beta version can be found @
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zij7j205ucsmj3n/9ZtyXFSWu0

This is an optimized version of Mumus 7.1 build with my sieve updates and a few other performance increases. Block rate should be as good as / better than Mumus. Use same as you would Mumus V7.1

Please send feedback via yPool chat/messages.

Normal disclaimers apply. Use at own risk. Blah blah..

It's gonna be hard to trust this...

Got it from the chat directly from rde and can confirm it's the same link. Great miner.

It's gonna be hard to trust this...

"THIS SOFTWARE IS GOOD.  YOU CAN TRUST ME."
-ODDREE (said moments ago)

I have upgraded to this miner on all 3 of my rigs and am seeing a 10% increase in PPS across the board consistantly, My PPS doesnt seem to bounce around near as much, and Im finding 7 + 8 primechains seemingly 2-3x as often as with mumus 7.1

I can confirm the 10% increase in PPS with the three clients I switched out so far.  I can't comment on number of shares, or chains, as I did a poor job of tracking it beforehand.  rdebourbon is looking for feedback, so if anyone else runs this, let us know how it goes for you (rdebourbon has asked that you let it run at least 4 hours to be fair with the way things jump around --- and the luck factor).

I have it on 75% of the miners. My unconfirmed (after 2h) has not dropped. Seems good so far.

Just switched over, but I can confirm an increased PPS of just under 10%. It is using a much lower Primorial Multiplier, and I got rid of a 2 million sieve value that I was manually putting in so it can use its autoadjust features. Will keep a close eye on it for value in YPool, but it looks like I'm finding many more shares so far, at least in the first few minutes.

You think it's better than solo?

I started solo mining with hp9 defaults today...I post back with my findings. I'll then try this miner to compare.

I solo mined a few days with HP8 and got nothing. I think that the issues with YPool were more that the miner wasn't optimized compared to the HPx line, and that that has been resolved with the miners in this thread. Still, I think that competition in mining is good, YPool is dangerously close to being able to 51% XPM, so if you have the power I'd say go for it.

YPool posted an update to their share formula, and now I can't connect through 7.1 or the rdebourbon versions. They say they recommend mums v4, will try and see.

v4 connected, but my PPS is down and Primorial Multiplier is way up. Open to any tweaking suggestions, though with the way that they changed the share values this might be a good thing.

rdebourbon's version still works, pool was just down for a minute while they changed things. I would love to see an 'unofficial' version that reads the share value from the server too Smiley

Can confirm, back on rdebourbon, but I'm concerned that it is the version they tweaked the share value for and will not be generating as good a return because it finds smaller primes. Any thoughts?

I can't confirm if the new Ypool miner is more effective than the newly custom released miner. Will be performing tests on 3 processors.

Thanks for the input guys.

I'll keep an eye on your findings and experiment myself as well. I'm running default hp9 settings for a day and then I'll try overclocking higher.

Is this good or bad? The message says people tune their miner to get more lower chain shares. I'm not sure if I'm doing that. Heh. How do I tune for higher ones? And is a certain miner better than another now?

How many long chains would it take to put ypool out of business?

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

They wouldn't go out of business....Whoever submitted the share would just get a huge piece of each block value for 80 blocks.

What settings do I change to increase the chance of getting 8+ size chains?

So far compared to 7.1 it's quite a bit more effective. Although right now I have my AMD Turion X2 and A6-3400m beating one of the top i3s ever made in the i3 3225.

Now time to compare to Ypool (if I can't see a trend across all 3 this will call for longer test periods).
