At Last!  Bitcoin developer charity mining pools are here!

It's never been easier to give a modest 1% of your mining to the people who made it all possible.  Start mining at either of these charity pools:

Charity Pool
Mainframe Mining Cooperative

and speed up the development of your preciousssssss bitcoin.

Announcement post of the Charity Pool:

Hello,

I'm pleased to announce the launch of charitycoin - our new pool designed to give something back to the bitcoin development community. We are offering a 10 BTC bounty to the finder of our first block. Finders of the second and third blocks will receive a 2BTC and 1BTC bounty respectively.

This project was inspired by Unthinkingbit in this thread http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=20455.0. While the pool has been running for some time, it has not been officially launched until today as we have been waiting for our new domain name. However there is some delay with that so I have used a temporary domain name to get us going as it's better to get going than sit around!

We are an open registration charity mining pool which gives 1% of every generated block to open source bitcoin developers and writers specified here. This is done via the donation amount being fixed at 1% for each user. You can donate more if you wish, just let me know in this thread or via PM (include your pool username) and I will make the necessary modifications.

We currently have an pool admin fee of 0.5% which we will soon be moving to a weighted fee based on block round time (the shorter the round, the smaller the fee), with a maximum fee of 0.5%. Pool keeps transaction fees.

While we are waiting our new domain name from Privacyshark, you can find us here.

You can use the following URL to mine with us (set up an account and miner first!):
http://charitycoin.coinncarry.com:8344

Website:
http://charitycoin.coinncarry.com

Some Pool Features

    Latest Bitcoind
Latest pushpoold with long poll/LP and blkmonD to reduce stales
    JSON API
    ozco.in fork of simplecoin interface
    Cool stats and info
    'cheat proof score'
Currently based on Amazon EC2 Infrastructure for resilience and reliability

Currently automatic payout is disabled until we find our first block, whereupon I can run the payout system and ensure there are no bugs to ensure that everyone gets paid correctly. Once the first payout has happened, automatic payout will be enabled for all subsequent blocks. Instant payout is available with a 2% fee.

I'm looking for reputable members to assist with the pool (support, coding etc) if anyone is interested, please PM me.

There is currently a 0.25 BTC bounty for anyone who reports an exploitable security vulnerability.

Hope to see you all on board soon and good luck to our miners in getting the bounty and future coins!

Peace

Shamen

Announcement post of the Mainframe Mining Cooperative:

Hi!

Announcing a new mining pool with a goal of giving something back to the developers who help make bitcoin what it is and continue to improve it.

The Mainframe Mining Cooperative is an open registration charity mining pool which gives 1% of every generated block to open source bitcoin developers and writers:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/blob/master/bitcoindonationinformation.html

(If you are a bitcoin open source developer or writer, you can post your information on the bitcoin donation thread and you'll be added to the list of developers we donate to.)

We currently have an administration fee of 0.5% over the 1% donation amount (1.5% total fee) and utilize a cheat proof scoring algorithm for calculating a fair payout of your shares

You can use the following URL to mine with us:
http://mining.mainframe.nl:8343

Website:
http://mining.mainframe.nl

Pool Features

  • Latest bitcoind (0.3.23) patched with multi-threading and native long polling support (less stales)
  • latest pushpoold (v5) with memcached and LP enabled
  • JSON API
  • Threshold and instant manual payout options
  • PPS to be implented in the future
  • Long Polling
  • Simple and Clean interface
  • More to come!

Come help us find our first block and start helping to give something back to the developers and writers of opensource bitcoin software!

-AnnihilaT

This sounds like an awesome idea after I get some testing finished with Mining Farm software, I'll redirect my Miner towards your project, I would love to win me some BTC Cheesy
Another note, I think if somebody that knew what to look for as far security exploits bounty I think an untrusted user would rather exploit the security issue then report it at that reward. Thats just my honest opinion tho hopefully people are more respectful then that on these forums but hey its the Internet Tongue

Thanks for disclosing a potential conflict.

Fortunately, there is no problem because all that matters is that the open source bitcoin work is sufficient, which it is.
