Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

this might be a good time for a reminder:

using downloaded software carries risk -- it could steal your wallet or spend your funds.

Thanks, but temporarily at least Truecrypt will work.  It's not as convenient, but it works.

I don't know if the program you are offering is actually safe, and so I won't try it, and I'd advise others to avoid trying it as well.

I can wait until version 0.4 when wallet encryption comes out.

This is an image of linux create using dd

When you burn this to pendrive you get full and safe linux on pendrive, you can keep this always with you.

If you dont trust you can make this your own.
Just download TnyCore Linux and put few apps .

But when you download this you have all in one place and its ready to work.

Ok, I see what you did now.  Yea, keeping a small bootable version of linux encrypted on a flash drive is a good idea.

Your URL looks like a bitcoin address, but blockexplorer says its not.

The use of a bitcoin address for a domain name is a novel idea.  I wonder if that will become a fad?  I wonder if we'll end up with a .bc top level domain (tld).

Does your domain name have a meaning?
Is it a big acronym?
Or is it just supposed to look like a bitcoin address?

Ah!  That raises another interesting twist.
URLs are case insensitive, but not so with bitcoin addresses.
That poses a problem for this scheme.

Try firstbits.com case insensitive and requires only 4-7 characters today. Hey OP, I think your image is a great idea, but I'd much rather see  how you put the tc image together. Then I'd be happy to test and comment.

It would be nice to have a description of what exactly comes bundled with the live CD and also maybe some screenshots.

You should post the source code / build scripts etc that you used to create the live CD and what original image you modified. This is so that people can verify that it is not modified to steal wallets.

I'm sure it isn't but you can never be too careful  Wink

Interesting work so far. I think tiny core linux has huge potential as a distro for bitcoin. I was wondering why the download was so big? When I was experimenting with tiny core I was figuring I could get bitcoin to run in under 50 MB total distro size...

Have you gotten a chance to publish a raw HOWTO from scratch?

(also, I'd be more keen to follow your tutorials if you did not use colors (particularly yellow)).
