Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The StarCoin wallet.dat was among those recovered.
We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: <suspicious link removed>
You maggots just can't let one of muddafudda's/ craptsy cloned scamcoins die ? eh ? When/ where and how did "the team" manage to find this wallet ?

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Thanks for those. Connected!! But my blockchain seems to be stuck with the "old checkpoint" error. Anyone have a current STR blockchain torrent by chance? I know it's a dead coin, mainly just doing it for fun...and because its there. if either of you want to claim the STAR from cryptsy and promise to report the findings your welcome to it. I certainly had a few trapped inside the 'in maintence for years' mode

Hello I am wondering why hundreds of dead coins are now being revived and starcoin not? What do the owners of millions of starcoins think really they do not want to be rich people?

I hope this coin didn't fade away like so many coins from back in 2013 did.
Unless there's some secret network going I'd say it's already dead. I don't think I've had many (or even any) peers connected in like a year. I do get the occasional connection to another IP, but based on the number of blocks they report (and no actual exchange of block data) I think it's a different coin. If anyone here has a starcoin client - how many blocks are you showing? I have 777855 with the last block being in May 2014.

Try an outbound connect to 203.20.114.252
Thanks! getpeerinfo : [ { "addr" : "212.119.171.18:18216", "services" : "00000001", "lastsend" : 1519506920, "lastrecv" : 1519506920, "conntime" : 1519505141, "version" : 60007, "subver" : "/StarCoin:1.7.1/", "inbound" : false, "releasetime" : 0, "startingheight" : 3825813, "banscore" : 0 } ] I suggest adding : addnode=203.20.114.252:18216 addnode=212.119.171.18:18216 in starcoin.conf . And the cash start flowing : https://imgur.com/a/vJ5ma

I only have v1.6.0, and it looks like the newest github source (at least from the link in the OP) also carries that version number: https://github.com/starcoinproject/starcoin/blob/master/src/version.h (see DISPLAY_VERSION_MINOR and DISPLAY_VERSION_MAJOR) The OP also refers to a new Windows client version 1.5... So where did 1.6 come from (official github), and 1.7 (windows only client?) I think my 1.6 client is refusing to connect to 1.7 clients. There's some change between 1.6 and 1.7 which means they can no longer communicate. Is there a newer source code link for this?
