Hello,
I recently started researching various cryptocurrencies. I currently have coinbase (to purchase bitcoins) and binance (to exchange my bitcoins for other cryptocurrencies). Ive heard that after i purchase bitcoins from coinbase i will have to transfer it to binance and that will end up having large fees (ive heard up to 20% of my bitcoin will be lost). Is that true? Is there any way to go about buying other cryptocurrencies while avoiding this?
Thanks!

Coinbase is currently likely blockchain.info and their fees are the highest ( due to the network being really busy) because the ongoing amout of transactions is huge.
I'd commend you to check poloniex exchanger instead one ones you mention above.

Would i be able to purchase cryptocurrencies without first buying bitcoins from another source through poloniex?
