this is going to sound like a total noob question, but here goes:

does the internet connection speed have anything to do with my accepted hashrate for mdidlecoin? I have the rigs connected wirelessly through a wireless range extender, that is wirelessly connected to my actual modem/router. I have had no issues with this setup on other mining pools, with my hashrates being reported through the pools accurately (meaning very similar to what my cgminer client reports).

I've noticed that the hashrates reported on middlecoin though are roughly 20% lower than what I expect them to be. My internet is cable internet, but is the slowest speed option available through my provider. If connection speed is an issue, I will upgrade the internet speed, as I would make up that extra monthly cost in about 1 day of mining. If the internet speed is not a factor though, then I will forego it.

There are 78 Litecoin address listed totaling 0.42762926 BTC that have never been paid out; There are also 66 other addresses totaling 0.26920478 BTC that do not start with a "1" and are not valid BTC addresses.

There are 141 addresses that have never been paid to but have a balance over 0.01; I didn't look closely enough to tell if they are valid BTC addresses that have only mined for a day or less.

Your cable modem speed should be fine but the multiple wifi hops could have some effect.
Bandwidth isn't much of an issue with mining through stratum but latency can manifest in your accept/reject ratio.  Multiple hops across wifi bridging can introduce latency. But even then, it shouldn't be all that bad. Also it will depend on which coin we're mining at the time.  Faster coins will get you more rejects if you're connection is laggy.

I've got a bit of a problem that I'm not sure what to do about, and I'm hoping someone here might have a suggestion.

Actually it's more my dads problem than mine; when he set up his machine to mine at middlecoin, he accidentally used his litecoin wallet number as his user instead of his bitcoin one. So now he has 0.02286889 BTC stuck because it can't payout to that wallet...

I know it's not that much but he has a slow machine so it's taken him a while to get that, so it would be a shame for it to go to waste.

Any ideas on what I can do to get the balance paid out to his BTC wallet?

h2o maybe has logs of the IP address associated with coins mined by LgMawT9xdHm2MP6Sb768cnyhXqEafPcX42. Your best bet would probably be to send him an email from the same IP address or to figure out some way to sign a message with the wallet ID (assuming there's an associated privkey).

h2o may be able to convert the BTC to LTC and send it to the LTC address; you would have to ask him to do this manually, but that would guarantee that it goes to the right person. Safer for everyone.

Considering one user is showing over 2000MH/s of rejects I would say it is likely just a reporting glitch rather than actual rejects.

It's probably just h2o's upgrades... As he said here:

This increase in hashing power most be draining your time and the servers. This must be becoming a full time job for you.  

I wouldn't cry wolf/hack/DDOS just yet.

Look on the site what other 1Mh address are getting. There is no hard and fast rule on what you get.

No.  You can easily look at someone doing that rate and click their link and see what they have been paid out recently.  There is no definitive answer, it fluctuates.  Spent 2 seconds of your life doing some research, like clicking on someone else with a similar hashrate, and see what they get paid.

Connection speed doesn´t matter at all, but if You have big latency, You´re screwed on fast block time coins, on which You´ll have huge reject rate. One of my distant rig (located on cold place with free eletricity) is connected by GPRS modem and I have to point it out of multipools due to this issue (eg. with Fast Coin I get +85% rejects). Try to ping middlecoin pool and if its above 250ms, its bad.

Possibly, what do you get for the EU server?  Too bad there isn't an Asia/Pacifica server which would probably be better for you.

As I see it there are two things that may support profitability: 1) There will probably be a stream of people moving into cryptocurrencies for the foreseeable future and the hardware reliant bitcoin mining may not be their first choice. 2) New innovations. My own background has made me very cautious when it comes to accepting the first technology as the dominant one. History has proven over and over again that this may not be the case, and cryptocurrencies so far show no reason why they would be exempt from this general rule.
