Why are only certain users allowed to block obnoxious advertising like the VMC ones. I am fine with text but images (even if images were created with CSS) gets very annoying.

I am offering a 0.25 BTC bounty to whoever writes an adblock filter and ads it to easylist

Adblock (plus or non) blocks "graphic" ads here, but leaves most of the text & simple hyperlink ones intact, along with some others following theymos' anti-AB specs. I don't mind them, though. Visual filters are easiest to set up and maintain. Smiley

ETA: Their ad happened to come up on posting, though... looks pretty mild. Nice non-offensive colors, smallish text.

I was wondering what you were on about and then I saw the ad just now, if you think that's an annoying ad you haven't been around the internet enough, as long as it's either a static image or just text I usually don't have a problem with ads, in fact, if they use decent advertising and offer fair terms on how they pay people I might even click on it, too many of them are doing pay per click now which is what creates the annoying ones.

I'll toss you the code to block vmc for now.

Code:
bitcointalk.org##A[style="display:inline-block; background-color: black;height: 38px;margin: 0 auto;overflow: hidden;width: 670px;padding: 2px;"]

bitcointalk.org##SPAN[style="display:block; background-color: #C4B437;height: 38px;overflow: hidden;position: relative; width: 270px;float:left;"]

bitcointalk.org##SPAN[style="display:block; background-color: black;height: 38px;left: 177px;position: relative;"]

bitcointalk.org##SPAN[style="display:block; color: black; background-color: #F2EFD8;height: 35px;overflow: hidden;position: relative;width: 400px;float: right;padding: 3px 0px 0px 0px;"]

Open adblockplus, add to personal, each individual goes in by itself.

I will get in contact with the easylist developers to add this.
