i start quarcoind-qt but i cant connect with cpuminer ?!
If the quarkcoin client is on the same pc use 127.0.0.1 aka localhost, if quarkcoin is on a different pc check your firewall and ports.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

---snip---
Any Ideas for the reverse?
your publishing artwork in lossy jpg? pls, use png or no lossy jpg... lossy jpg looks fugly, otherwise i like it Wink
Thanks for the feedback! I still need ideas for the other side. Objective being an animated gif.
Here's a PNG for you.

looks fab

i think if it was moreup rather than laid down would look better
the Q design with 2 dashes was something I have said many times but designers seemed to ignre
its good as looks like a currency symbol which i mentioned too

i think if Q was maybe a colour from the colours in the quark and the coin gold?
just ideas
anyone else?

i like this as felt current symbol is fantastic but looks too much like a token, not a coin
is useful for wallets and small widget icons, but yes, nice to have a 'real coin' to look at based on orifinal too

thanks for efforts! keep them coming

I am Bonkers BTW

Someone is hashing at around 130kHash at my pool with username 'user'.

This don't work!!

You need to set as username your Quarkcoin address where the payment should go

dude i have gone like 20 hrs with no payments and before that they were sporadic.
and i have sent a SHIT LOAD of people to your p2pool etc Wink
All i see is some red spikes in the graph now and i see in my miner 123/131 as of right now.
my address = QeNqosBzEFXzmnKdDnpw58b5uRWsUmCBGM
i have been doing between 30 and 40 kh/s on 1 thread the last or day or two and 2 threads before that..
to see if that would help me get payments from the shares i have submitted.
All along i'm barely getting anything an i don't understand why Sad
If you look up my addy you can see why i think that..

im on cryptsy chat more than here too eh

edit:

yeah you hit a block:)

I only can't talk about my understanding of the workings of a p2pool

The pool adjusts itself to only get 1 share every 15 seconds at all.
Currently the pool has a share diff of around 0.090442 (in !bitcoin! diff).
Means you need at average 2^32 * 0.090442 hashes to get a share. At 40kHash it's 2,6 hours to get one share that counts.
The accepted shares of your miner have nothing to say, since your miner get even lower work, just so that the pool gets regular feedback and can better calculate the pools hashrate.
Dead on arrival imho means the result came back to late, which can happen esp. with slow miners other were faster.
But (and that was the case with your hitted block) even if a result to late to count as a share it still can count as a block.

You can try to lower your share diff with /0.01 appended at your username. Then (if the pool allows - there are some internal limits afaik) you will hit a share around every 18 minutes. Of course those shares have a lower value.

The same btw applies for super hashers:) If you have say 10MHash you could add /1, and get a share 'only' around every 7,1 minutes, but then these shares would count much much more. (Att diff 0.09xx you would hit a share around every 39 seconds if my math is correct)

And is has an added benefit: The share diff for slower miners will not go up so much.

I have been using the pool since the first day it was announced (great work on the pool and miner software btw!).  I start getting Quark incoming within an hour of initiating my quark crunchers.  If you haven't seen anything for 2 days then it should be pretty obvious that something is less than Gretzky.  I tend to notice a dead spot of no payments 1-2x a day.  When I notice a lull in payments I restart the miner software and it seems to get back to normal.  Not sure what causes the dead zones since the miner appears to be functioning normally during those periods...

since updating to the latest client, its seems very buggy and unstable for me. Most of the payments I have tried to send have ended up stuck in limbo with zero confirms. Re-installing the client and redownloading the block chain but still not getting confirms on the payments ive sent.
Don't seem to have a problem receiving payments though. Anyone else had this problem and know how to fix?

Got 5/5 accepted shares and haven't been paid..
Also, what does the + and / values do at the end of your username for the pool?

7/7 now and no payout. Why does it take so long?

You are kidding me.
EXACTLY this did i already answer to you:
(And its also no the only point here in this thread where i talked about my understanding of the p2pools workings)

Also, why doesn't my address show up in the pool? http://176.221.46.81:8372/static/

I have 4/4 shared accepted.  Huh

Please read about the workings of p2pool and especially the fake difficulty.
The links are somewhat up in one of my posts, or look in the bitcoin wiki
