Hello,

i have been testing out the following pools:

http://mine-pool.net/qrk/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
and
http://www2.coinmine.pl/qrk/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

I was thinking about switching to a smaller pool because of the 51% discussions on QRK all around. However, I figured out that the "big" pool (coinmine.pl) has MUCH higher reward. And you guys can even see that without signing on that pools by visiting the URLs above.

For example, the top hashrate contributor on the small pool does about 22MHs and its shown that that gives him the ridiculous ammount of ~1 QRK/day. Similar hashrate on the coinmine pool gives ~130 QRK/day. Why is there such a huge difference? It is more than a HUNDRET times higher! I even tested it and the values seem correct to me, so i stopped using the small pool for now.

any clues?

+1 guys, my thoughts exactly. The altcoin forums on Bitcointalk have become the new 4chan, otherwise known as the "asshole of the Internet". I've been on these forums since 2011 and the FUD, scams, sock puppets and crapcoin launches have truly hit epic proportions.
I'm doing exactly what Kevin Rose said he's doing and that is locking my portfolio down in cold storage. I have no doubt that ALL good cryptos are going to skyrocket this year and Quark is definitely going to be one of them.
The same shit is going on in the gold and silver markets - those who are in the know are shaking out the weak hands. Don't be one of them. Years from now when you look back on this time you can either look back in regret, or look back and smile knowing that the patience and discipline you showed when younger made you a wealthy man.
Yes, the market is trying to sort through all the wannabe alt-coins at the moment that have been dumped on the market.  Everyone looking to make a quick buck.  Literally 100's of coins have been created in the past few months.  Most coins these days are just scrypt clones, change the numbers around and BAM new coin!  Slap a new logo, premine, and you're good to go... zero innovation with nothing to add.
Look at all the scrypt coins listed here, and that's not all of them:
https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/178-scrypt-cryptocoins/
With Quark, unique & secure algo and a new distribution model with most centralized mining out of the picture.  It has a good shot.  Of course, where there is much reward, there is always much risk...
At the moment the best strategy I see is, mine at a profit-switching pool like multipool/middlecoin, then dump these alt-coins to buy BTC/LTC/ & QRK  Smiley

Lol guys, do I have to remind you that Quark is a copycoin ?

Wake up, we are in 2014. PoW is dead. Mining is dead. If you invest in any of these copycoin you are a fool.

The 2nd gen of cryptocurrency is 100% PoS and add innovates features like :
brand new software (not the fucking BitcoinQt)
routable through Tor and I2P
Decentralized Alias System / DNS
DDoS Protection
Transparent Mining
Arbitrary Messaging
Instant Transactions
Decentralized Marketplace / Auction
Distributed Storage
Multi-signatures
Blockchain Shrinking
Two-phase Payments
Voting System
Reputation System
Decentralized Mixing Service
Distributed Computing
Smart Contracts
Distributed Computing
Hardware Wallets
...

Does Quark have or plan to include any of these ? No.

Quark is one of the hundred of mine&dump coin. So mine it, dump it and let it die.

@superresitant If they are that great then they certainly won't need your little advertisement campaign.

Just stop with these cheap manipulation attempts. There is enough valid information about Quarkcoin's unique features, that these little FUD maneuvers are just a waste of time and forum space.

BTW: Quarkcoin got added to Coinmarket!! Finally a direct USD - QRK exchange  Grin Grin

@superresistant you are talking out of your ass. Quark is the third biggest Crypto family with over 12 clones already and almost instant transaction with 30 sec. faster than any top coin. Also those features you mentioned can be added to Quark at a later stage. It go added on CoinMKT already.

Also LTC is a copy of Tenebrix i don't see you whining about that, loser

So, what is (according to you) the good one?

Yes, Please inform me what is the best alternative crypto-currency available, I am also interested.

Please do not say BitCoin & LiteCoin - The people who have made fantastic riches on those coins are so adament to defend them, and act like just because they were first that they are best. I find it hilarious that these people will not diversify into some of the new cryptos to 'hedge their bets' with the 'house money', and that they are solely focused on destroying the competition, rather than joining the Alt. Crypto movement and accepting technology.

Back to the hashrate discussion:

http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/461/qrk-coinmine-pl?page=4
Is this even real?

If you are mining at Feeleep's pool ( qrk.coinmine.pl/ ), please switch immediately to another pool like mine-pool.net/qrk/ .
Feeleep's pool now controls 97% of the hashing power of the Quark network and it puts Quark under the risk of a 51% attack, which will irreversibly damage the reputation of Quark just like it happened with TRC and FTC during summer. Read more about the Feeleep's pool situation here www.reddit.com/r/QuarkCoin/comments/1usxmz/feeleeps_pool_accounts_for_978_of_quarks_total/

And as the reward goes down , so did the hashrate for the last two adjustments.

Maybe already asked or dumb question, but if there are already 247M of coins mined, what we are mining now is the yearly inflation?

* Total of 247 million QRK will be mined in ~ 6 months, after that ~ 1 million QRK p.a. (~ 0.5% p.a inflation)

Current block value is 4 QRK

There are more than 247 million  coins to be mined , it's 247 4xx xxx or something if i remember correctly not 247 000 000. Then inflation kicks in.

Yes it is practically only CPU mining. I know you can simulate with GPU's by using something they call "smelter", but then you would be much better off mining another coin with your GPU as you would get a lot more Quarks (10 fold..) by buying them in one of the markets with Scrypt-coins.
