I ordered 2 S7's that came with a server PSU. I've never had one before and was excited to try it out. Its come with a slightly different cable than I've ever seen before.

https://www.amazon.com/5-15-C19-Power-Cord-Foot/dp/B004XM5X30

https://www.amazon.com/Cablelera-North-American-Extension-ZWACPFAC-06/dp/B00GMPVAJM/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_tr_t_2?

Could be one of these cables. But the holes are horizontal and I'm used to them looking like normal power supplies. But its definitely a 110v plug in to the wall. Which makes no sense since its a 220v PSU. I've tried it anyways and no power went to the PSU.

I'm wondering what would be the cheapest path to getting this going?

I'm considering listing it on ebay and buying some corsairs. But would rather get the correct cable for 50 bucks or less.

Semi-new miner here. I'm running 2 D3's, 2 S7s, and a 13 GPU rig. I'm ready to add these 2 S7's to my farm.

can you post a picture of your PSU, and the slot where the power cables connect. They might be set up for using with a PDU but I can't be sure. Have you tried reaching out to the seller for some info about how they ran the PSU?

Only the first picture loads.

Nice to see an amitylabs PSU, I use a couple of their 2450 versions. After re reading your post I assume the cable is detachable.

I had a similar issue the first time I bough a Miner it was an S4+ and had a very similar cable, I wound up getting rid of it, the guy told me he thought I had a PDU.

Long story short you can buy a cable just like the one you have but with a different end on it depending on the type of circuit you are trying to run off of.

Is it a 220V 20 amp circuit or 30 amp circuit?

If I am wrong about the cable being detachable from the PSU you can also cut the end off your cable and rewire the plug with the right one, if you are comfortable doing that.

It is attached to the PSU with some kind of hardened black stuff. But the end cap comes right off and exposes 3 wires that would be easy to rewire to something.

I dont know much about electricity. But I have an older house with a 3 prong dryer outlet.

Okay I got yah,

To find out what that 3 prong dryer plug has for a circuit, I'm no expert so I don't know what you would have off the top of my head, you need to look at your breaker panel, you should be able to find it labeled it should be a 2 pole breaker which means it takes up 2 spaces in the panel. You will probably have a few 2 pole breakers so if it's not labelled it might be tough to pinpoint. Depending on the circuit you will want to size the receptacle accordingly.

So if it's 30 amp grab a 30 amp receptacle, same for if it's 20 amp. Make sure the receptacles are for 220V. You can do this on that 3 prong dryer outlet if you are not using it and don't plan to.

You can google and do a little research to make sure you understand how to change the receptacle properly, but given the investment made in equipment and the dangers of faulty wiring I would suggest having an electrician come by and give you a hand with that.

Depending what receptacle you have installed you need to get the matching cable end and wire that up to your PSU. I would say hold on to that end you are taking off though because maybe as time goes on you expand and begin to use PDU's to cut down on receptacles.

I would suggest though because you have limited electrical knowledge that you get an electrician to come in and make sure. This way you will also see how to do these things should you choose to in the future.
