Question for people who are still building and adding GPUs....

Can we now rock out with 10 GPUs of the same maker?
I currently have 2 builds on an Asus Z270-A with 8 GPUs, i know i can add a 9th but has to be a different make.
Can we do all 9-10 of the same GPU?

Below is a link which says we can rock out with 10 GPUs.

I do not support the concept of increasing the number connected to the motherboard GPU. It does not make the cost cheaper rigs. But you get more risk that your equipment will be damaged and to restore it you will get more losses. It seems to me that the most optimal number of connected GPU is 4-6 pieces.

You have a lot more thinking to do, sir.

Yes, you can do it using PCIE splitter. But too risky, other parts can be damaged. and Performance processor is told to work too hard.

i think im going to stick with 8 AMD and 1 Nvidia.
does anyone have advice on setting up that last Nvidia? i have 2 rigs with 8 GPUs all AMD but i know each z270 has 9 slots available for GPUs with 2 m.2 adapters which im using now to get the 8th card working.

I'm still using the Aug23 blockchain driver.  No need to change things up and risk fucking up a prefectly stable running rig unless there is a huge upside to it switching drivers.

latest drivers work well, you just need to enable compute mode on each card through whattaman, or through registery.

For registry, add the below key for each card:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\XXXX
"KMD_EnableInternalLargePage"=dword:00000002

where XXXX is the card number, and starts at 0000

But msi afterburner wont work with the new drivers, you'll need to find another method for overclocking/undervolting. I personally do it through the card's bios.

and 12 cards work well in windows, I finally changed all my rigs to 12 cards per rig (Biostar TB250 BTC Pro motherboard)
