Hey all,

Would someone volunteer to make some intro text and/or a mockup of what should go on the welcome page of bitcoin-central ?

First it was a "Forbidden" page... Crappy.
Next it was the FAQ... Which was even crappier.
Now it's the first question of the FAQ shamelessly copy-pasted from the very bitcoin.org website.

Any ideas welcome.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

A graph would probably do it.
Also I have a hard time believing that someone is selling 500BTC for .225 EUR

That's right at market rate. .225 * 1.32 = .297

Assuming I base the EUR prices on USD conversion which is not the case, EUR prices are fixed by the market, there is no EUR -> USD conversion whatsoever.

The price is for one BTC, not for the complete amount, 500 BTC would then sell at 112.50 EUR @ .225 EUR/BTC
