Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Pools are not needed. Difficulty is so low that you can solo mine using CPU only. I get about 12-20 blocks a day with 20 kh/s.
P.S. Tomorrow I will attach the first (AFAIK) scrypt ASIC (dualminer w/ gridseed ASIC) to the LBW network. Probably just one, so that'll be another 70 kh/s for me.
Can you post pictures when you do this? I am curious to see the Gridseed in action. It definitely seems like a cool thing, but right now the prices are just too high to make me want to buy them instead of new GPUs for another rig. I am running the single chip DualMiner. I have a total of 6 DualMiners and 1 dedicated to LBW. AFAIK, the first scrypt ASIC for the LBW network. Running and solo-mining blocks:

I managed to connec tto the network for about 24 hours, now am back to no sync. lol

Those are really sexy! So where did you get them? I don't trust anyone, but I will definitely trust a fellow LBW miner.

I love the movie and have to say this coin is a fantastic idea. It would be totally awesome if someone with the know-how would pimp the wallet a bit Dude style. I used git to compile, I assume the precompiled wallets look the same. Or?

Whenever I try to sync, I get connections for a couple of seconds, then a total disconnect. here's the debug report. At some point, I apparently try to connect to a IRC channel and it bans me. idk if that's what triggers the disconnect or what.
Yes, I too have noticed the IRC disconnects. The IRC network LBW uses is banning bitcoin clients. I might code a fix if I get some time. I was also having the same problem connecting, or being connected for a little while and then losing the connection. Re-syncing the block-chain (with the addnodes from OP) has resolved this for me. FWIW, it appears that LBW network was under attack for a little while. I was experiencing mass orphanage and other block-chain problems when this occurred.

I take it back. Even after redownloading the block chain, I am having problems staying synced with the LBW network for more than an hour.

Only very minor changes in github. Walt accepted a PR for 'totalnetworkhps' RPC and I have another PR outstanding with updates for Mac client.

Just delete everything except wallet.dat in appdata/lebowski's folder add nodes in wallet or in lebowski.conf I'm behind NAT and it syncs fine right now
