Mining ALTCOINS on iMAC, is it possible?

Greetings, any ALTCOINS I can mine on iMAC? Everyone says its a waste of time, however I have a lot of time to waste. Not to concerned with the energy consumption, would really like to earn a few ALTCOINS and start helping in solving complex problems. I’m a N00B and would prefer a classy non jaded humble VET to help me get started. Appreciate greatly your time and energy as I know this knowledge does not come easy for anyone. Thank you.

There's no up-to-date mining software for macs. You should boot into Windows using boot camp.
However unless it's the most overpriced iMac that has an RX 580 in it, you'll earn so little money that it's not even funny.
There will also definitely be overheating issues no matter which one you have.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother. If you can afford an iMac then you can probably afford a decent mining rig.
