what are the signs of a pump and start of a correction

One of the sign of pump is when the price in long consolidation and in level oversold area, when the price will be more buyer. But this case also not 100% guaranted.

Pump&Dump is the artificial things while the growth and correction are the natural ones. We can make forecasts only for the natural things in my opinion. I usually use tech analysis (Support & Resistance Basics, RSI and MA50, MA100).

Yes Its right that you have to study a little bit about technical support and Resistance levels for any pumps and dumps. If any coin trades in certain range for long time it mean it mean its is waiting for a clear break out any side, if you just know this technical thing you can easily forecast  any pump and dump. The other thing is all currency is traded  and follow Bitcoins's movement. If bitcoin pumps or dumps heavily all altcoins will dump for sure and if Bitcoin stays in a range all altcoins will fly higher.

bought verge @ 100 sats but i sold at around 120.  i was able to buy in @ certain price points but failed to take advantage. didnt see it coming.

one moment you have a buy wall of 20-100 btc then after few moments im down 20-30%

im so frustrated right now. i bought 5500usd dollars @ 120 sat. i was able to ride the pump for a while and reached 7800 usd. but now im back to 5500

same with DGB

i was waiting for a pump on NXT. thought there wont be a pump sold it  5 hours later it is up 50%

It is impossible to predict that when the bump and dump will occur in crypto currencies.Crypto investments are mostly like a gambling so we never know when we will be succeed.So we have to choose popular coin and make our investment in long term to decrease the risk factors of crypto investments.
But if a coin faces rapid price increase then it may face a price dump so we have to wait for that dump to happen then we have to buy that coin for more profit.

There is old and true statement of traders: buy gossips, sell news. It is only information that mostly have impact on the prices of currencies. Before the pump news and advertisement is spreading very widely.

Generally, big news (sometimes fake news) precede an altcoin pumps. Exp: IOTA jumped because of a fake news about association with Microsoft.
