Im using Xchat on Ubuntu. I have configured Xchat for tor, and connect by using the line: /server p4fsi4ockecnea7l.onion
I get disconnected because "You need to identify via SASL...(SASL access only)" I have already added "cap_sasl_xchat.pl" to ~/.xchat2/ and I get the message "SASL: auth loaded from ..." when I start Xchat, so I know the script is there. I have tried the "set" command with "/sasl" yet I cant get it to work. I have tried: /sasl set FreeNode mynick mypass plain /sasl set irc.freenode.net mynick mypass plain /sasl set p4fsi4ockecnea7l.onion mynick mypass plain
yet I still cant connect, for the same reason (SASL access only) Is it a prerequisite that people were previously registered to freenode?
I really want some bitcoin irc chat so any help would be appreciated!
